Overview

Knowle Farm is a cottage complex located in the beautiful countryside of South Devon, right next to Dartmoor National Park. It’s a perfect place for families with children, as there are plenty of facilities available such as an indoor swimming pool, a soft play area, a tennis court, a walk-in rabbit area, and friendly animals.

Activities

At Knowle Farm, there are a lot of activities to keep you busy, so much so that you might not feel the need to leave and explore the rest of Devon. The top attraction is an indoor heated pool with gentle steps at the shallow end and an outdoor decking area, perfect for sunbathing. Additionally, there is a separate indoor play barn that features a soft play area for kids under 5 and a pool table and table tennis for older children and adults. Outside is an excellent outdoor area, with a toddler “race track” for safely enjoying ride-on toys, a wooden play frame with swings and towers, and an enclosed area for rabbits and guinea pigs. There is also a newly resurfaced tennis court, with rackets and balls available to borrow. Moreover, guests can explore over half a mile of natural woodland and riverside walks.

Food

There’s a delightful inn within a 15-minute walk for nights when you don’t fancy cooking. You can also buy locally made pies, ready meals, and other foodstuffs directly from the owners of Knowle Farm. BBQs are available to borrow in the warmer months.

Accommodation

At Knowle Farm, six cottages have been converted from barns, each with its own unique character and original features. The cottages vary in size, with Clematis being the smallest and accommodating up to two people and a cot, while Woodbine is the largest and can sleep up to eight people. In addition, Foxglove and Cow-mumble are both four-bed cottages that can be combined to create an eight-bed property if required.

You can save space in your car when you visit Knowle Farm, as they provide baby and toddler equipment free of charge. This includes high chairs, bed guards, cots, baby baths, changing mats, and sterilizers.

Nearby

Knowle Farm is situated in the picturesque countryside just outside Rattery and is approximately a ten-minute drive from the historic market town of Totnes. There are plenty of family-friendly attractions in the local area, including Pennywell Farm, the National Marine Aquarium, Dartmoor National Park, and River Dart Country Park. Additionally, there are two steam railways and numerous beautiful beaches and areas of countryside to explore.
