Come and experience New Barn Farm in Bedfordshire, a family-run farm offering luxury canvas tents. These tents are perfect for large groups and extended families. Guests will be amazed at how peaceful this place feels when just an hour’s drive from London. There are plenty of farm animals to see and lots of nature and greenery to enjoy.
Children can play and explore the woodland, while the footpaths and grassy fields around the farm give families plenty of space to walk, cycle, and picnic. There are even mini-go-karts to try.
Those who love animals have the chance to meet pigs, sheep, pygmy goats, chickens, ponies, and more. Guests can even look after a guinea pig or a pair of chickens during their stay.
Oxford and Cambridge are within easy reach, and Silverstone is nearby.
The canvas retreats have a fully functional kitchen, a stovetop for cooking delicious meals, and a kettle to prepare hot water. There is access to running water from a sink and plenty of workspace for little ones to join in the cooking. Start the day by cooking breakfast on the wood stove and enjoying this outside on the picnic table.
As the night falls, visit the honesty shop to try some of Hannah’s famous homemade dishes, or cook a hearty stew on a wood-burning stove before settling into the cosy beds. Pizza nights are a popular option, where families can gather around the pizza oven with other guests, share stories, and create delicious pizzas. There are also breakfast hampers, barbecue kits, and farmer’s stew kits available.
New Barn Farm has eight canvas hideaways on the edges of the Blackwell Spinney. They face a six-acre field boasting a view of grazing animals. Five hideaways have shower rooms, while the remaining three have private outdoor showers. All tents are spacious and can accommodate up to six guests, with three separate sleeping areas, including a double bedroom, bunk room, and double cabin bed.
Please note that the New Barn Farm tents are entirely off-grid, meaning no electricity or WiFi is available. However, this should not discourage guests from visiting. A wood-burning stove keeps the open-plan living space and sleeping quarters comfortably warm. Additionally, other home comforts come as standard, such as bespoke wooden furniture, a comfortable sofa, and charming candle lighting. A welcome package that includes bed linen, towels, candles, matches, washing-up liquid, and other necessities is also provided.
Oxford and Cambridge are easily accessible from New Barn Farm, as is Bletchley Park for those interested in World War Two history. Closer to the campsite, enjoy visiting the picturesque market town of Olney, which also happens to be a great spot for wild swimming. Families can hire bikes and cycle to the nearby village of Carlton, where there are a couple of family-friendly pubs perfect for a pit stop. For those in the mood for a leisurely walk, there are plenty of footpaths to explore or take a stroll through the grassy fields around the campsite.
Enjoy a fantastic family holiday at this Bedfordshire farm stay, complete with luxury canvas tents, lots of outdoor space and friendly farm animals to meet and greet.
