Notgrove offers more than just a place to stay, set on the 1500-acre Notgrove Estate in the heart of the Cotswold’s, they offer a true family holiday experience. Choose from our modern self-catering Holiday Barns, cosy Glamping Pods and wild Safari Tents, perfect for families looking for a laid-back Cotswold stay.

Activities

Kids will love meeting the farm animals and exploring the estate on foot or by bike. There’s also a games room for rainy days, as well as plenty of nearby attractions to keep the whole family entertained.

The private estate is set on 1,500 acres of beautiful Cotswold countryside, which means there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures. Bikes are available to hire on-site, or you can bring your own. You can also enjoy some friendly family competition on the tennis court, which is available for hire both daytime and evening.

For kids who love to play, there’s a field complete with football nets, a clamber stack, willow tipis, and a mini playhouse. And when they’re ready to take a break, the indoor games room has table tennis, a mini pool table, and table football, as well as a selection of books, games, and toys. With their prime location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the stylish barn conversions at Notgrove Estate are perfect for families with children looking to explore the great outdoors.

But that’s not all – Notgrove Estate has also teamed up with local experts to offer a range of outdoor adventures and health and beauty activities right on your doorstep. From laid back yoga to exhilarating quad bike rides, foraging for your supper to close encounters with wild feathered friends. Guests can also meet the alpacas, highland cows, donkeys, and goats who call the working farm home. The animals love to be fussed by guests, so be sure to make time for a visit during your stay.

Food

The barns are arranged around a modern courtyard, which makes them perfect for large group getaways. Guests can enjoy communal meals in the spacious dining areas, or they can opt for quieter family meals in the privacy of their own accommodations. For those nights off from cooking, the nearby foodie pub in Cold Aston is a great option.

Accommodation

At Notgrove Estate there is a variety of accommodation options available, from the modern barns, the safari tents to the glamping pods.

The luxury Mega Pod Glamping accommodation sleeps up to 4 people, all overlooking the idyllic village of Notgrove. Notgrove Holidays don’t have set arrival days, instead they try to offer completely flexible arrival days throughout the season. You can stay in the luxury glamping pods from any day for two nights upwards. Two of the pods also welcome dogs – Buttercup and Bluebell.

All pods have en-suite shower and WC, Double bed and double sofa bed, Kitchenette with fridge, microwave oven and single hob, Flat screen Freeview TV, Dining table and chairs, Outdoor seating and fire pit (fire packs available), Heating, lighting and electrical points, Wi-Fi, Kettle and Toaster, Cutlery and cooking utensils, Linen pack available at extra cost.

Another option is the modern barns, which provide top-notch accommodation. From their contemporary kitchens to their cozy dining areas, these barns have everything you need for a great family holiday. What’s more, they’re super child and pet-friendly, so the whole family can join in on the fun. Chestnut Barn has three spacious bedrooms that comfortably sleep six guests, making it perfect for families. The large, open plan living area is filled with contemporary windows that provide plenty of natural light and stunning views. The modern kitchen is perfect for preparing delicious meals, and the easy-access bedroom downstairs is ideal for those with limited mobility. Upstairs, you’ll find two more large bedrooms, each with their own unique charm.

Hazelnut Barn and Cobnut Barn are also modern and luxurious barn conversions that sleep eight guests across four bedrooms. Ideal for families, these properties offer a fresh alternative to traditional Cotswold stone cottages. The large open plan living areas are perfect for socialising, while the modern interiors are stylish and comfortable.

Walnut Barn is the largest of the cottages. This modern barn conversion is located solely on the ground floor and features two living rooms, one of which is open plan with the kitchen. With plenty of space to relax and unwind, Walnut Barn is a great choice for those looking for a comfortable and stylish stay.

Each barn offers off-street parking with a dual 22kw EV charger for guests to charge their electric cars. The private terraced gardens are surrounded by iron fencing and yew tree hedging, providing a peaceful and secluded spot to relax.

If you want to get right back to nature, then the Safari tents are a great choice. The luxury tents and can sleep up to 6 people in three fully furnished bedrooms, wood burners and with a flushing loo.  All landscaped within a former cricket field and enclosed by beech trees. You certainly wont be roughing it though, with 3 bedrooms – a double, a cabin bed and a twin room, private toilet, wood burner to keep you toasty, a kitchenette with gas hob, kettle and toaster, China and cutlery provided, plus Wifi and a separate shower room and extra toilets.

Nearby

You will want to spend as much time on the estate as possible, but while you are in such a beautiful area of the country is it worth exploring the surrounding area. Just a short drive away are some amazing attractions that will get your little ones excited. The Cotswold Farm Park, just four miles down the road, has been famously featured on Countryfile. Families will get to learn about rare breeds, pet animals in the touch barn, feed lambs and goats, and enjoy the many playgrounds. It’s an ideal place for young and old alike. If you’re looking for something a bit more wild, check out the Cotswold Wildlife Park, which is also only four miles away. Lions, leopards, and a variety of other animals offer up-close encounters with nature’s finest. The lovely grounds and great children’s playgrounds make it an ideal day out for the family.

For the more adventurous types, the Far Peak Climbing Centre, just five miles away, offers indoor climbing and bouldering for all ages and abilities, as well as a 15-metre outdoor climbing tower for those who are a little braver. They’re dedicated to providing a great climbing experience for all, whether you’re learning, improving, or taking the kids for their first climbing experience.

And last but not least, the Sudeley Castle and Gardens is just a short drive away, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Cotswolds. With royal connections stretching back over 1,000 years, it has played an important role in England’s past and is now a much-loved family home and popular visitor attraction.
