Overview

Polmanter Touring Park, owned by the Osbornes for over fifty years, offers a warm Cornish welcome with stunning views of the Cornish coastline. The park has modern facilities and a five-star rating for its attention to detail.

Activities

At Polmanter, guests can enjoy various top-notch facilities to keep them occupied throughout the day. The five-star amenities include modern heated toilets and showers, tennis courts, an excellent heated outdoor swimming pool, bar, restaurant, takeaway, games room, and an indoor soft play area.

The outdoor heated swimming pool is open from Spring Bank Holiday until mid-September, providing a perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. At one end, there is a shallow children’s paddling area, and sun loungers are available on the spacious terraces for those who want to relax by the poolside.

Two hard tennis courts are open throughout the season for tennis enthusiasts. Guests can practice their swing and enjoy a game with friends and family.

There are two play areas at Polmanter. One is located in Geevor meadow and is suitable for more minor children. It includes two wooden horses, a tractor, swings, a climbing frame with a slide, and a wooden V.W. camper van complete with a slide. The second play area is ideal for older children and is behind the tennis courts. It was redesigned in 2015 and includes a zip wire, stainless steel, wooden pod structures with a slide, and an extensive trim trail.

The Indoor Games Room has two pool tables and a table tennis table. A new cedar-wood-clad building also houses a soft play area, toddler zone, seating area, disabled suite, baby changing facility, and toilets.

A large Sports Field is close to the park entrance for all ball games like cricket and football and activities such as kite flying. It has two goalposts and lots of room to run.

Guests can also enjoy various activities for the whole family, including mini-golf, a putting green, and a sports field. Rackets, balls, and clubs are available for loan from reception.

In addition, there are two outdoor playgrounds, one for toddlers and preschoolers and a more “extreme” one for children over five. The activities are designed for the whole family, and the games room is perfect for friendly competition among family members.

Finally, an onsite beauty spa, Escape Spa Treatment Rooms, offers holistic massage to help guests relax and unwind during their stay.

Food

The Stable Bar and Restaurant is the perfect place to go when you feel too chilled to cook. With its pizza oven, the bar is open five nights a week from Easter and every day during the peak season. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is open from 9 a.m. during the peak season. Guests can stop by any time for tea, coffee, and cake or enjoy a refreshing drink in the garden while watching the sunset over the Atlantic.

The Stable Bar and Restaurant is committed to using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The team takes pride in the fantastic produce available in West Cornwall, with local meats, sausages, and freshly landed fish prominently featured on the menu. The bar also offers a range of Cornish beverages, including St Ives beer and Penzance gin.

For guests who prefer to avoid cooking at their pitch, the Stable Bar offers a range of delicious takeaway meals that can be ordered directly from the bar every evening during the peak season (opening times vary depending on the time of year).

Imagine enjoying a freshly baked pizza as you watch the sunset over the hills. It’s the perfect way to end a busy day on holiday. The Stable Bar and Restaurant also offers a quality children’s home-cooked, local food menu. Children are welcome in the restaurant, and highchairs are available, along with easy-going staff to make your family dining experience as enjoyable as possible.

In addition to the bar and restaurant, the Stable also has a well-stocked shop that sells camping essentials and excellent Cornish produce.

St Ives has recently become a foodie’s paradise, with a superb selection of places to eat. Guests can try one of the beautiful beach cafes or stroll along the Mediterranean-feeling Wharf in the evening, where the whole town smells delicious. Remember to explore St Ives’ winding little backstreets, which are full of hidden gems.

Accommodation

The campsite offers a variety of pitches to suit different preferences. For those who prefer a hard surface, there are hardstanding pitches with tarmac or gravel, surrounded by grass and equipped with electric hook-up points, water, drainage, and even a T.V. socket. Alternatively, there are grass pitches that also come with all these amenities. Serviced hardstanding and grass pitches with their electric hook-up points are also available. For a more rustic experience, non-serviced grass pitches at the top of the site, surrounded by a traditional Cornish hedge and beautiful countryside views, are available.

The campsite understands the needs of families with young children. Amenities blocks have family shower rooms with a shower, toilet, basin, and bench. Special baths at worktop height are also provided for bathing wriggling babies or toddlers.

In addition to the various pitches, the campsite provides facilities to make camping more comfortable. There are washing-up rooms in all three amenity blocks, a freezer room in the Levant block, and Elsan disposal points at all three blocks. A large laundry room with industrial-quality washing machines, dryers, and sinks for hand washing, irons, and ironing boards is open every day and evening.
