Activities

Lahaina is beautifully spacious with a fully fenced-in garden, meaning there’s heaps of room for the kids to run around and play. Relax and play some games together on the comfy sofas on the terrace or have a family tournament on the table tennis table, which can be enjoyed in the garage on rainy days or wheeled outside in the warmth of the sunshine. There’s also a fabulous hot tub to relax or splash about in. When they’re ready to run wild or let off some steam, the beach is just 700 metres away.

Food

This place has a kitchen suited to even top-tier home chefs. Super stylish and handcrafted, it is well-equipped for a self-catering holiday with integrated appliances, including AEG with an under-counter freezer, full-size integrated upright fridge, integrated oven, microwave, and dishwasher. This fully equipped kitchen is perfect for home cooking, and there is an outdoor kitchen area where you can BBQ on the outdoor grill.

If you don’t fancy cooking, The Cornish Arms pub is just 100 metres from the house, as are the bus stops that will take you to and from the heart of St Ives if you don’t fancy walking the 20 minutes to the seafront. Tesco is the nearest supermarket, within walking distance, taking no more than five minutes on foot.

Accommodation

This luxury self-catering holiday accommodation sleeps easily in four bedrooms and has three bathrooms, a huge living space and dining area, and a super stylish large kitchen with a central island with stools. For those that want a different zone to relax in, there is a snug with another large sofa, giant bean bag and patio doors that lead into the rear terrace which exudes a Mediterranean vibe. It’s just perfect open-plan living to relax in with the kids in sight.

Lahaina is set back from the main road into St Ives, and its parking for up to four cars is directly outside on a paved driveway. You walk into a light-drenched entrance hall lit by three double-height Velux windows and a Tom Raffield light. There is a small cupboard in the entrance hallway for stashing away boots, buggies, and wet coats. Helpfully, there is a retractable stair gate at the foot of the stairs, which is great for stopping over-enthusiastic toddlers or dogs from heading upstairs.

The dining table with Pedrali dining chairs easily seats 8 people. A Tom Raffield wooden lamp subtly lights the dining table from above, and other occasional lamps and plants offer a real home-from-home feel. The most sumptuous sofa offers the best loafing experience ever! There is an additional armchair with a footrest, Smart TV, and Bang & Olufsen Beolit 20 Portable Bluetooth Speaker for streaming your holiday tunes.

The utility room has a Bosch washing machine and Hotpoint tumble dryer, and there’s a quiet, snug room to relax in. The kids will love the large L-shaped sofa and oversized bean bag. There’s a Smart TV for those who want to watch something different to the others in the living room, too. A shower room is off this room, and there is a wash basin, WC, and shower cubicle.

On the first floor are two super king-size bedrooms, a king-size and a twin bedroom. There is a Smart TV, armchair, side table and lamp, full-length doors that open inwards and look out onto the front garden/ parking area over a balcony. Step into the stunning en-suite shower room with WC, wash basin and shower with dual controls. There is a spacious walk-in wardrobe with enough space to store luggage, hang and fold your holiday clothes as well as play hide and seek!

The twin bedroom has two three-foot single beds, a bedside table and lamp, an armchair, a giant bean bag and an open hanging space. The family bathroom has a bath, shower, WC and wash basin with soothing pieces of art evoking a true sense of relaxation.

Nearby

Lahaina is located on the drive into St Ives from Carbis Bay and is very close to Tregenna Castle. It is a short 15-minute walk to Porthminster Beach and the same to Carbis Bay Beach via the South West coastal path. The heart of St Ives, with its cobbled shop-lined street, is no more than a 20-minute walk away.

Countryside walks can be enjoyed directly from Lahaina. A 15-minute walk will take you to Steeple woodlands and onto Knills Monument, with gorgeous ocean views beyond.

At the harbour, you can choose boat trips and fishing experiences. Take a boat to Seal Island and check out the local wildlife. This is an experience they won’t forget. You can also grab a net and some bait from one of the local shops and try catching some crabs off the pier. This absolutely brilliant activity will keep them busy for a long time. Go rock pooling at low tide at Porthmeor Beach, or head to Porthminster Beach to try kayaking and learn to surf with the local surf school. If it’s raining, check out Coco Kitchen, which runs regular chocolate-making workshops, or visit one of the local museums.
