The Epping Ongar Railway’s Santa Specials offer a magical holiday experience that starts with a ride on a vintage London bus from Epping or Ongar to North Weald Station.

At the station, visitors can savour festive refreshments from the food stall while enjoying the sounds of a live brass band. Characters roam the area, ensuring that “nice” children will be on Santa’s list.

Families then cross the footbridge to board Santa’s Special Train for a return trip through Epping Forest, where live entertainers keep the fun alive, and Santa greets each child with a special gift.

It’s the perfect festive day out for all the family!

Please note that you will need to join our vintage London bus service at either Epping Underground station or in Ongar to travel to North Weald Station where you will catch the train.

The ticket prices for Epping Ongar Railway’s Santa Specials in 2024 are as follows:

23, 24 November (Early Bird): £55 for up to 2 people, £110 for up to 4 people, £250 for a Quiet Compartment (up to 8 people).
30 November, 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 19, 20 December (Standard): £60 for up to 2 people, £120 for up to 4 people, £275 for a Quiet Compartment.
21-24 December (Premium): £65 for up to 2 people, £130 for up to 4 people, £300 for a Quiet Compartment.
