Durham Christmas Festival is the perfect opportunity to tick loads of items off your Christmas shopping list.
There are three markets, and more than 200 independent traders in the city centre throughout the festival. You can visit the Craft & Producers’ Marquee on Palace Green, Durham Market Hall – home to 40 local independent businesses, and the Festive Outdoor Market in Durham Market Place.
The Children’s Lantern Parade will once again be a festival highlight in 2024.
To many families the Lantern Parade has become ‘the beginning’ of the Christmas season – it will take place on the afternoon of Saturday 7th December 2024, departing from Durham Market Place at 2.30pm.
Please note, there is an entry fee to the Craft & Producers’ Marquee.

There is an entry charge for the Craft & Producers’ Marquee on Palace Green, this can be paid at entry, or you can purchase discounted entry in advance online. Online purchases will close a few days before the festival. All other markets are free to enter.
£5 on the day at the entrance, or £4.50 in advance.
