The winter wonderland of all winter wonderlands!

We visited Stewart’s Garden Centre in Titchfield, Fareham, with our two daughters, aged 6 and 9. The centre also has two other locations in the South. Although it looks unassuming from the outside, the garden centre is a hidden gem. Once inside, it’s clear just how spacious it is, with a fantastic plant nursery, an aquatic centre, and an array of gardening items, trinkets, gifts, toys, teddies, Christmas trees, and decorations in the shop – all well worth exploring.
After a leisurely browse, we enjoyed the free Christmas selfie area, where we took festive photos with the provided props. We all had a blast! The kids (and adults too!) can pretend to ride Santa’s car, turn into a giant snowman, become a gingerbread family, or even ride in Santa’s sleigh. We managed to get some excellent photos, which will definitely be featured in our yearly album.
Next, we headed into the Winter Wonderland to visit Santa. We were welcomed by cheerful elves who guided us to a magical indoor walk, themed like a winter village. The kids were captivated by the twinkling lights, beautiful decorations, and festive characters along the way. The walk was filled with sparkling trees and enchanting scenes, leading us to a large sleigh—another perfect photo opportunity. The girls were over the moon to knock on Santa’s door, where an elf introduced them to the man himself. Santa was incredibly friendly, taking time to chat with them while a photographer captured some precious moments. The photos, available for purchase on the way out, turned out beautifully. Both girls made it to the nice list and received a gift each, while Daddy, alas, did not! If for any reason a child is unhappy with their gift, the staff are happy to assist with a swap.
We finished our visit at the on-site café, where we treated ourselves to a variety of delicious treats: fresh smoothies, milkshakes, homemade cakes, tasty drinks, and freshly prepared meals. There was something for everyone. We’re already looking forward to returning to Stewart’s Garden Centre in the future!
