Activities

Camp Kátur offers a wide range of activities to keep guests entertained during their stay. The estate features vast meadows, sprawling woodland, and marked trails for guests to explore. The team at Camp Kátur is proud to hold the ‘Dark Sky Status’ accreditation, which they received due to their low light pollution and location between two ‘Dark Sky Reserves.’ Guests can admire the beautiful sky on a clear night while enjoying a glass of red wine around the fire pit. The estate also includes a small holding with sheep, chickens, and occasional pigs, and guests can gather branches to build the perfect den. Families and children can have a safe and active break with plenty of space to play and no traffic. Camp Kátur provides an excellent opportunity to explore the Yorkshire Dales, work out in the outdoor gym, or run the 5km trail. After a day in nature, guests can relax in the Hebridean pub with a perfect pint of Yorkshire ale by the roaring log fire. The estate also offers Bushcraft Experiences led by expert rangers with extensive knowledge of the area and wildlife. Guests can participate in workshops and classes, including Den Building, Wild Cookery, Tool Making Workshops, and Fire Building sessions, by adding an unforgettable Bushcraft Experience to their reservation.

Food

The glamping site offers comfortable and cosy lodges for its guests, allowing them to bring and enjoy their preferred food and drinks. Guests can also purchase bottles of wine, beer, and soft drinks at the reception. Additionally, each hideaway comes with a BBQ facility that allows guests to cook while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Yorkshire. The site also provides two fully-equipped communal kitchens to cater to all guests’ culinary needs.

Accommodation

The accommodations available at this location are truly unique and offer something for everyone. The geodesic designs of the structures create a distinctive shape, and guests can enjoy the warmth of wood-burning stoves and stunning views from the giant bay windows. The tents are equally unique, with comfortable beds, stoves for cooler nights, and quirky decor. Surrounded by trees and wildflowers, guests have plenty of space to explore. The chic wooden lodges offer a variety of options for relaxation, with bespoke and lovingly decorated interiors.

The Geodomes at this estate offer luxury accommodations with a diameter of 7 meters. The Bellatrix Geodome is situated in the most beautiful part of the estate and features an internal kitchen, dining area, en suite bathroom, double bed, mezzanine double bed, and stargazer ceiling. You can enjoy wildlife and beautiful sunsets from the private deck of the dome, complete with a BBQ, hot tub, and dining table. The EQUULEUS, HADAR, LEPUS., and NASHIRA Geodomes offer uninterrupted views across the Vale of Mowbray and are nestled on the edge of the ancient forest. These four geodomes are perfect for romantic getaways or family vacations and come with wood-fired hot tubs. Each geodome features giant bay windows, en suite bathrooms, wood-burning stoves, lighting, USB charging points, and all the necessary amenities for a comfortable and stylish nature experience. The open-plan living space includes a double bed and a small double sofa bed, making it great for families with children.

The Lodges at the estate are split into four cozy lodges, three for accommodation and a larger cabin for relaxing. The Lyra is the first of its kind in the UK, offering a beautiful balance of sustainability, craftsmanship, and luxury. It has underfloor heating, two bedrooms, two shower rooms, an integrated kitchen, and an open-plan lounge that overlooks the glade. Outdoors, it benefits from an expansive private deck with comfy seating, BBQ, and your own wood-fired eco hot tub. Chestnut Lodge, which sleeps eighteen, is set in a private corner of the estate and boasts brilliant views, privacy, and great facilities. It has a pool table, fire pit, stove, wood-fired hot tub, sauna, hammocks, and much more, making it the perfect space for celebrations. The upcycled lodge, Bears Place, is quirky and unique, with a veranda overlooking the meadows. It sleeps 4, making it perfect for a family, and the children will enjoy sleeping in bunk beds made from a ‘horse box’!

The Hobbit Houses:

The Hobbit Hide is nestled in a lovely, bright, sunny spot and is entirely unique, with a circular door that makes you feel part of the meadow. With a private wooden deck, dining area, fire pit, and plenty of space to enjoy, it’s the perfect spot for evenings around the campfire. The Hobbit Pods are placed within the woods and are surprisingly spacious, making them the perfect place to retreat to after a day in nature. They are three wooden and uniquely furnished pods with windows to watch the wildlife come and go! They come with bunk beds and two camp beds, meaning you’ll be comfortable and warm whatever the weather.

Don’t forget to bring warm clothing, footwear for roaming the forests, woolly hats, and torches, but towels and bathrobes are included in your stay.
