Overview

Wellington Country Park is a great destination for families seeking a fun day out in the countryside. Despite its rural location, the park is easily accessible. Visitors can enjoy a unique experience in each season, which allows for children’s imaginations to soar. The park is particularly well-suited for children up to 8 years old, providing an excellent opportunity to spend quality family time together and create unforgettable memories.

Things to do

The Animal Farm is a great way for kids to spend time with friendly animals and participate in daily activities. You can take a short journey on Arthur, the Miniature Railway, which loops around showcasing miniature versions of the Animal Farm, Dinosaurs, Enchanted Forest, and more. Children are treated to a fantastic time as they play and bounce in the specially designated play area, or cool off under the water spouts and umbrellas. A visit to the magical forest is highly recommended, where pixies and fairies reside in their unique homes, surrounded by adventure equipment ideal for the younger guests. There are also automated jeeps and mini-golf.

The trail presents wobbly bridges and monkey bars, challenging the visitors’ skills, while the Toddlers Play Area offers a perfect playground for the little ones, complete with sand pits and a variety of play equipment. The immersive dinosaur zone boasts over 30 dinosaurs, complemented by the Lost World Sound Experience. Adventure seekers can board HMS The Duke of Wellington, the pirate ship, or enjoy sliding down one of the many slides. When they are ready to chill out, the Sensory Play Room offers a peaceful retreat or you can purchase a bucket and spade from the shop to build sandcastles by the lake.

The Nature Trails beckon for a leisurely exploration, greeting deer, wandering through woodlands, feeding farm animals, and ending the day with an ice cream by the lake. For those wishing to extend their adventure, overnight camping under the stars is available at the Campsite.

Food & Drink

Cafe 1815 is situated inside the Main Reception building of the park and provides a wide variety of hot and cold food, snacks, confectionery, and ice creams. There are four different food areas located around the park where visitors can choose from hot meals, light bites, great coffee, or handy snacks to complement their picnic. All food and drinks are available for takeaway, and there are many picnic tables and breakout areas where visitors can enjoy their food on the go. Additionally, the Woodland Cafe is open and offers the opportunity to picnic indoors. It serves hot and cold drinks, snacks, and confectionery and is located right next to the Jumping Pillow.
