Overview

Wingham Wildlife Park was first established as a bird park back in 1986. However, after being taken over by new owners in 2008, it underwent a significant transformation and has since become one of the most popular attractions in Kent. The park is located just outside the historic city of Canterbury and is known for having the largest variety of animal species among all the wildlife parks and zoos in the region.

Things to do

The park is home to a vast array of animals, both big and small, that are sure to delight visitors of all ages. From the majestic moon bears to the playful meerkats, and the adorable red pandas to the fierce tigers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, the park offers a diverse range of otters, wolves, lemurs, crocodiles, and penguins from various landscapes and environments. Guests can attend daily talks and feeds and book special experience days to get up close and personal with their favourite animals.

For those who are fascinated by prehistoric beasts, the Dinosaur Park is the perfect destination. Visitors can see over 29 life-like dinosaur models, including the Triceratops, Diplodocus, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, and many more. Be prepared to hear the T-rex’s roar and walk on the wild side!

Animal enthusiasts can spend a day as a zookeeper and get up close with these amazing animals. Feed giraffes and other animals and choose from a variety of animals like Arctic wolves, sloths, tigers, and giant tortoises. It’s an opportunity to create lifelong memories as you interact with lots of animals.

The park also offers plenty of activities beyond animal attractions. Children can play in the soft play area, try mini-golf, explore the museum, and visit animal attractions like the Reptile House, Tropical House, and Bug House & Gardens. They can also attend animal talks, feeding time, and even do some go-karting.

Food & Drink

There is a café that offers food and drinks throughout the year, starting from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. (During the winter season, the café has an earlier closing time). Additionally, there are refreshment kiosks available near the tropical house, lions, and mini-golf course.
