Overview

Warwick Castle isn’t your run-of-the-mill castle – it’s a total medieval marvel, born from a wooden fort crafted by William the Conqueror in 1068! Fast forward to today, and it is a magnificently huge fortress! The drawbridge is now lowered, and all the knights and princesses are invited in for a day jam-packed with castle awesomeness! Watch and feel history come alive in a way all the family will enjoy. Run along the ramparts and climb the towers, and don’t forget to pop in and say hi to Zog the dragon.

Things to do

Is your little one a big fan of Zog the Dragon? Then Warwick Castle is somewhere your family will want to visit. On the castle grounds, the Zog playland awaits, full of zip wires, slides, swings, tunnels, turrets and sensory play features. The outdoor playground combines physical and sensory play and is accessible to all. And that’s not the only Zog fun to have. During the school holidays, Zog meet and greets mean your little one can grab a photo with the one and only Zog. And during the summer months, be sure to catch Zog live on stage.

The Zog playground is just the start of your fun at Warwick Castle; the vast castle is yours to explore, and you will love learning all about the mind-blowing history of Warwick Castle – where ancient myths, spell-binding tales, and centuries of extraordinary stories await. Even the little historians (no matter how small) are in for total captivation! In the lovely interactive storytelling session, visit the princess tower and help make the princess’s wish come true. Or head down into the castle dungeon and see the gruesome side of castle life. Learn about epic battles, explore secret rooms, meet shy ghosts, and don’t forget to check out the castle defences and wander the grounds!

But hold up, it’s not all severe history stuff – Warwick Castle is a playground for your little adventurers! Get lost in the Horrible Histories Maze, time-travel in the Ticking Time Tower, have a go at archery, and you want to swing by The Mighty Trebuchet to witness a seriously giant catapult; you will even get to see it in action. When you need a break, hit up the shops for unforgettable keepsakes and fuel up at the café (no medieval gruel here, promise!).

Want to see something seriously unique? Look up – could that be a 9-foot wingspan of a bird of prey? Warwick Castle takes falconry to the next level, showcasing aerial acrobatics from the fastest owls, vultures, and eagles on earth!

And wait, there’s more – the calendar is packed with epic event days. You could grab tickets for the Dragon Slayer, for instance, a theatrical performance that’s a light show extravaganza featuring captivating storytelling, fearless fighting, majestic horses, and thrilling battles around the legendary Guy of Warwick and Princess Felice. Cap it all off with a breathtaking fireworks final – an unforgettable experience, guaranteed! Warwick Castle is where the action’s at!

Food & Drink

Hidden in the castle’s lower level, head to the Undercroft café, the perfect stop for hot and cold snacks. Grab some sandwiches or pastries and something to drink.

The Conservatory tea house is nestled in the peacock garden and is where you want to go if you want a light lunch, cream tea or ice cream to enjoy in the beautiful surroundings.

Courtyard refreshments offer takeaway snacks to enjoy on the castle grounds. There are also plenty of picnic benches, and you can bring your own food with you.
