Overview

The Bear Trail is all about mud! It is an exciting outdoor adventure trail where families can be creative, test limits, and work together. Physical and mental challenges await across obstacles, including a shaky bridge, zip line, and Bear Mountain. Prepare for a challenge, get dirty, and have a memorable family time!

Things to do

Getting muddy is the top priority at the Bear Trail. This outdoor adventure trail allows kids of all ages to be creative, push boundaries, and work together. Known as Devon’s muddiest family assault course, the Bear Trail features 30 obstacles and endless mud.

This award-winning attraction is a family-friendly muddy run obstacle course on a ten-acre site. Enjoy climbing over bear nets, zipping down the zip wire, and navigating through muddy tunnels. Families can tackle the assault course as many times as they wish.

Remember to bring a towel, a change of clothes, and dry shoes for the perfect visit. The Bear Trail offers hot, open-plan indoor showers with private changing rooms. Feel free to wear rash vests, layers, puddle suits, and old clothes that can get dirty. Storing any valuables in a car and out of sight is recommended. Car keys can be left at the outdoor cafe, and parking is free.

Food & Drink

After all the fun of getting muddy, why not relax and enjoy a meal with the family at the Bear Cave Cafe? They serve a wide range of delicious foods, including stone-baked pizzas and hot foods, including chips, sausages, and chicken nuggets. Fancy a treat? Then, tuck into the tasty confectionery, crisps, and cakes. Hot and cold drinks are also available.

Where possible, the food and drink are locally sourced. Coffee comes from Roastworks in Willand, cakes from Foxcombe Bakery in Okehampton, and ice cream from nearby farm shops, including ice cream suitable for dogs!

Staff are trained to sell a range of food to suit specific dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and dairy-free. Tables are available for wheelchair users, including table service.
