Activities

Catgill Farm is an ideal destination for tourists who love nature. It is located less than a mile from Bolton Abbey, offering access to a variety of walks suitable for all ages and abilities. The Dalesway footpath passes along the river Wharfe and takes visitors through several picturesque towns and villages, including Ilkley, Burnsall, and Grassington.

Campfires are a popular activity and Catgill Farm offers fire baskets for hire from their reception. The baskets come with logs and kindling, and guests staying in timber pods or bell tents have their own fire basket, complete with a pizza oven!

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is one of the UK’s designated dark skies areas, making it an incredible location for stargazing. The farm is situated on the national park’s edge, away from light pollution areas.

Food

A brasserie-style pub at the popular Devonshire Arms country hotel offers both indoor dining and outdoor seating. It is only a 15-minute walk away and boasts stunning views towards the river Wharfe, making it the perfect location for a summer evening with friends and family.

If you’re in the mood for hot beverages and baked treats, head to Cat’s Kitchen. The staff, who Arista trains, are eager to serve you a variety of coffees, hot chocolate, and freshly baked pastries throughout the day. And if you’re looking for something more substantial, you can enjoy a freshly made pizza at the end of a long day.

There’s a small on-site shop located in the new reception area that’s perfect for any basic essentials that you may have forgotten.

Accommodation

The Timber pods have been creatively designed to make your stay unforgettable. From the moment you arrive, you will be surrounded by luxury in one of the six uniquely styled pods. Each pod is the same size and specification and can sleep up to 6 people – with a double bed, bunk bed and sofa bed. They each have a high-quality interior design with their own unique woodland scheme. Each has an ensuite shower room, kitchen, log-fuelled hot tubs and cast-iron fire pits with pizza oven. Bedding and towels are provided.

Three of the deluxe glamping pods now feature an exciting new addition – brand-new Geo Domes! Say goodbye to concerns about the unpredictable British weather and hello to an upgraded outdoor living experience!

The two bell tents have been designed with luxury and are uniquely furnished and accessorized. Each tent has a handcrafted, king-size driftwood bed with duvet, pillows, cushions, and throws. A small sink with fresh drinking water is provided, and each tent can sleep up to a family of four with a double bed and two futons for the kids. There is a private washroom, electricity, a wood-burning stove, log-fuelled hot tubs, cast-iron fire pits, and a pizza oven.

The campsite field is spacious and beautifully manicured, featuring electric and non-electric pitches suitable for tents and VW-style campervans. There are electricity hookups, five-star washing facilities and a fire pit available to rent. With various natural features such as streams, hills, and trees, choosing the perfect spot is all part of the fun!

Nearby

Catgill Farm is conveniently located near many local attractions, so you won’t need to use your car during your stay. Hesketh Farm Park is just a two-minute walk from our doorstep, while the Bolton Abbey priory, River Wharfe, and stepping stones are all just a ten-minute walk away. Both of these attractions are great places to visit, with plenty to keep both kids and adults entertained, as well as dogs too.

If you feel like exploring further afield, the town of Addingham is just a five-minute drive away. You’ll find excellent pubs serving good food and local beers there, a Co-op food shop that stocks most things you’ll need, a Spice Fusion Indian takeaway that delivers to the campsite, and even a kids’ playground and park.

For those looking for something a bit more sophisticated, the town of Ilkley is just a ten-minute drive away and is home to the world-famous Betty’s Tearooms.

Finally, if you’re up for a scenic drive, the charming Yorkshire Dales village of Grassington is just a 25-minute away. Here, you can enjoy beautiful stone buildings, various unusual shops, and friendly pubs and cafes.
