Devon Yurt Holidays provides award-winning glamping accommodation with breathtaking views of Dartmoor. The site features two yurts and The Granary, a barn conversion on the first floor. All of them are located on a nature-friendly family farm in Devon and come with a private paddock and a freshwater log-fired hot tub. The farm is home to rare breed animals and offers fresh farm produce. Dogs are welcome at both the yurts and The Granary.
Located in the stunning rolling countryside of West Devon, there are endless activities to enjoy both on-site and in the surrounding area.
Families can take part in a range of activities, from playing outdoor games in their private meadows to board games inside the yurts with cosy log burners keeping them warm. Additionally, each yurt has its own fire pit, perfect for alfresco dining and toasting marshmallows.
Children will love getting involved with the farm’s animals, including feeding the hens and collecting eggs in the morning, bottle-feeding lambs, and feeding all the lovely animals on the farm. During the Spring, there are newly hatched chicks to cuddle, and in the Summer months, the farm’s beautiful Connemara ponies and stunning rare breed sheep are often shown at local agricultural shows. Guests can even help shampoo and groom the animals, and some young visitors have even been awarded prize rosettes for their help in preparing the animals.
In the area, there are a number of family-friendly, award-winning pubs and restaurants that offer a wide range of food options, from pasties to Michelin-star dining. You can also enjoy a BBQ box of meats and salads straight from the farm or a breakfast basket to make your day’s first meal a real treat. If you don’t feel like cooking on your first night, you can book one of our home-cooked meals to take the pressure off. This way, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your family holiday here at Devon Yurt from the moment you arrive.
There are two types of yurts available: Little Links, which is perfect for romantic couples, and Great Links, which is more remote and ideal for those seeking adventure. Young families will appreciate Little Links, as it is closer to the farm. Guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friend with them, as dog-friendly holidays are now available (one per yurt) and their own bikes and horses (if they have them). There are some amazing trails around the farm, and the family will share their favourite wild swimming spots and beaches with guests if they need to cool off.
Laundry and drying facilities, a fridge-freezer, and a warm washing-up area are available in the shower barn. Tap water and water carriers are also available. Matches, fire-lighters, kindling, logs, and camping stove gas and barbeque coals can be purchased from the farm. The first basket of logs and kindling is complimentary, and the family will lay the fire and make the bed. Linen is provided for the large bed in each yurt, and for any extra beds, guests can rent linen from the family or bring their own.
Cooking equipment, cutlery, and crockery are provided, as well as basic tea and coffee provisions, sugar, salt and pepper, eco-friendly hand and washing up liquid, tea towels, dishcloths, kitchen roll, toilet roll, etc. There’s a cool box in each yurt with cold ice blocks supplied, which can be refrozen in the freezer in the shower house. A selection of games and books are available for guests to borrow.
Each yurt has its own private hot tub, so if guests have selected to use it, they shouldn’t forget their swimmers! The yurts can be booked individually or as a group booking to also include the Granary B&B for those who seek less adventure.
Guests are welcome to bring their four-legged friend, as the farm now offers dog-friendly holidays (one per yurt) and their own bikes and horses (if they have them), as there are some amazing trails around the farm. The staff can provide a high chair and cot for £10 per stay, and there is also a changing table in the shower barn.
