Things to do

At The Haven, you can find a diverse collection of primates to observe. From lazy lemurs to noisy gibbons and cheeky monkeys, they are all fascinating to watch. All of them live in spacious enclosures designed to suit their needs. You can observe them during one of the feeding times to see them at their best.

Apart from primates, The Haven is also home to various species of owls, such as the Arctic Snowy Owl and the tiny Australian Boobook. Additionally, two Common Buzzards called Emma and Nelson live here.

The Wise Owl Lodge is another feature of The Haven that is sure to entertain children. It is a fully heated building open to all visitors with various activities available. These include quiz trails, an interactive map, and colouring. You can also meet a small selection of rescued reptiles during the twice-daily reptile encounters.

The Funky Monkey Play Area is designed for children aged 5 and older. It features a variety of equipment, including slides, towers, swings, rope bridges, and more! The area has been designed to look like a monkey enclosure, complete with a Homo Sapiens information board! Younger visitors (under 5 years) can enjoy the Cheeky Monkey Play Area, which has tricycles, a play hut, bubble cars, springies, and a slide.

Food & Drink

For hot food, sandwiches, cakes and drinks, swing by Xhabu’s Tea Room. There’s also an Ice Cream Shack to treat the kids and picnic areas if you’d rather bring your own picnic.
