Things to do

Bristol Aquarium offers a stunning display of aquatic creatures. Families can observe a range of marine life, including seahorses, pufferfish, piranhas, babymoon jellyfish, and many more. As visitors journey through the Bay of Rays, the Mighty Amazon, and the Coral Seas, they’ll feel as though they’ve been transported straight to the Great Barrier Reef.

The Underwater Tunnel is a must-visit spot where visitors can marvel at the sharks and fish swimming overhead. This massive display holds 250,000 litres of water and is home to a range of sea life, including Cownose Rays, eels, soldierfish, and a variety of coral reef fish, such as Nemo the clownfish or Dory the blue tang. Visitors can also spot other exotic creatures like sea anemones.

Once visitors have finished exploring the underwater world, they can step into the Urban Jungle. With lush plants and a warm environment, it’s easy to forget guests are not in a tropical paradise. Visitors can look up to see towering tree species that will leave them in awe.

Don’t forget to visit the Amazing Amazon, where little ones will love walking along a multi-level walkway over an open-top Amazon display. With 60,000 litres of fresh water, visitors can spot river fish, catfish, string rays, giant pacu, and even yellow-bellied turtles on Turtle Bay Island.

This exhibit is not to be missed, as the aquarium in Bristol is the only one in the UK to feature a giant botanical house.
