This Christmas will see the arrival of Lincoln Ice Adventure – a new festive experience inspired by last year’s popular Ice Trail.
While keeping the much-loved ice sculptures, this year’s event adds a family-friendly adventure, transforming the city into a magical winter wonderland for all ages.
This event promises an enchanting experience featuring 16 intricately designed ice sculptures by Ice Box, displayed at iconic locations throughout the city. A live ice-carving demonstration of the famous Lincoln Imp will take place on both days too!
As you explore the festive trail, stop by local shops for some Christmas shopping and warm up with seasonal treats from businesses along the route, soaking up the festive atmosphere.
The sculptures will be placed in key locations, including Lincoln Cornhill, Steep Hill, and Lincoln Cathedral, where the picturesque backdrop of Christmas in Lincoln adds to the festive magic.
Sculpture locations include:
– Lincoln Transport Hub
– Lower High Street
– Cornhill Square
– Sincil Street
– City Square
– High Bridge
– Lincoln Guildhall
– Top of the High Street/The Strait and Narrow
– Top of Steep Hill
– Bailgate (outside the White Hart Hotel)
– Castle Square (outside the Visitor Information Centre)
– Lincoln Castle
– St Paul in the Bail
– Bailgate
– Newport Arch (outside Duke William)
– Lincoln Cathedral Dean’s Green
In addition to the sculptures, the Ice Adventure will feature Christmas carollers, a mulled wine stall and a host of festive activities across the weekends leading up to Christmas.
Members of the public will also have the chance to submit a design to be carved in ice and feature in the 2025 Lincoln Ice Adventure event. Anyone who wishes to submit a design can do so by posting their drawing in the post box ice sculpture on High Bridge.
