The cathedral is the first ever built in England, making it a perfect destination for history buffs of all ages. You can discover the final resting place of infamous royalty, King Henry VI, and step back into a medieval world to see the iconic warrior ‘The Black Prince’ tomb. As you explore the cathedral, keep your eyes peeled for dragons, grotesques, and the incredible stained glass windows. Additionally, if you venture outside, you might be lucky to see the Peregrine Falcons swooping overhead!

This oldest cathedral in England is a great day out for any family, where you can step back in time, explore history, and find hidden little gems. And don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the Dean of Canterbury’s many furry friends!

Opening Hours

Please make sure to check the website prior to your visit as the opening times may be subject to change.

Opening times are as follows:

– Monday to Saturday: 9 am to 5 pm (last admission at 4 pm)
– Sunday: 11.30 am to 5 pm (last admission at 4 pm)

Please note that between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm on Sundays, access is only available to the Cathedral grounds and shop. The Cathedral church opens at 12.30 pm.
