The park is a beautiful destination for families with children or anyone seeking a tranquil retreat for the afternoon. Covering an area of 5 acres, visitors can enjoy meeting friendly animals, conversing with the parrots, frolicking in the play area, or unwinding in the stunning gardens. This award-winning park invites visitors of all ages to explore its offerings.
The animal sanctuary welcomes visitors to meet their friendly animals in spacious enclosures. The collection includes a diverse range of animals, from Alpacas to Zebu. Visitors will first encounter the playful meerkats who are always up to mischief. Visitors can watch the meerkats have fun in their heated house on rainy days. It is highly recommended that visitors attend the daily feeding and keeper talk to learn more about these creatures.
In addition to the meerkats, visitors can see resident reptiles such as the prehistoric uromastyx lizard and Coral, the albino corn snake. On sunny days, Josie, the 65-year-old tortoise, and her friends roam outside with rabbits and guinea pigs.
The zoo also houses other small carnivores, including playful Tanuki (Racoon dogs), the striped skunk, and Jango, the Asian Leopard Cat.
A chorus of birds greets visitors as they enter the zoo. The collection includes a variety of exotic birds, ranging from tiny finches to tall rheas. Visitors can interact with the parrots, macaws, George the Umbrella Cockatoo, and the Myna Bird, who can whistle, dance, mimic sounds and words, and love interacting with visitors.
The park has several gardens for visitors to enjoy, including the Formal Bird Garden, the Secret Garden, and the Sensory Garden, which are interactive and educational.
The park has an activity trail, towers, platforms, slides, firefighter poles, tunnels, and dens for children. Take a break while they play in the park!
The café offers a variety of snacks, including cold sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes, biscuits, crisps, ice creams, and hot and cold beverages. Furthermore, additional tables are on a sunny terrace that overlooks the lovebird aviary and the surrounding open countryside. This terrace is enhanced by a raised fish pond and flower beds, which makes it a delightful place to enjoy a meal or snack.
