Overview

With over 400 interactive exhibits and Scotland’s largest I.M.A.X. cinema, there is much to do at the Glasgow Science Centre. Children can be electronic engineers for the day, be dazzled by the mind-bending science show, or be fascinated by listening to Buzz Lightyear in the planetarium. All before venturing 127 meters high in the Glasgow Tower. A thrilling day out for all.

Things to do

Children who love technology can dive into a new world of exploration and engage in workshops as electronic engineers for a day. Families can learn about renewable energy inside the Science Mall and even create wind-powered cars. Don’t forget to catch the captivating Science Show Theatre, where a team of brilliant minds showcase a variety of experiments. This experience will ignite future generations’ curiosity, inspiring them to reach new heights.

Then, relax in the digital full dome planetarium to hear from the legendary Buzz Lightyear, enlightening visitors about the Moon. Or, fancy a film? Watch captivating 3D cinema on Scotland’s giant I.M.A.X. screen, featuring films like ‘Space Station’ and ‘Under the Sea’.

Then, conclude your visit with a trip up the 127-meter-tall Glasgow Tower. With over 400 interactive and educational exhibits at The Glasgow Science Centre, families will be entertained on this fantastic day out.

Food & Drink

The Café is the place for recharging with various delicious options, from hot meals to light bites and sweet treats. Indulge in multiple food choices at the Café, including hot meals, sandwiches, sharing plates, and kids’ meals. Treat yourself to mouth-watering homemade delights. The Café is open on weekends and local school holidays from 11 am to 3 pm.

For early risers, the Coffee Shop offers a selection of delicious foods, including cakes and pastries, sandwiches, toasties, and treats. Hot and cold drinks are also available. Open from 9.30 am on days when the centre is open, in the I.M.A.X. building foyer.

Visit Scotland recognises the centre, Taste Our Best, serving over 60% of the produce from local businesses.
