Godinton House is a Jacobean mansion with unique carvings, furniture, porcelain, and contrasting decor that reflect its fascinating history. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil parkland and 12 acres of beautiful gardens and indulge in homemade teas and plant sales.
Godinton is a cherished historic home that provides visitors a comfortable and unique experience. Each room has a distinct character that reflects the personal taste of those who lived there over the centuries. Expert guides offer tours of the house, sharing its 600-year history and showcasing a remarkable collection of furniture, art, porcelain, and curios.
Visitors can enjoy delicious homemade cakes and refreshments in the old Billiard Room. The formal gardens are surrounded by the famous yew hedge, with wild, Italian and walled gardens beyond that are full of colour and interest throughout the seasons. The estate is still working, offers lovely walks, and is close to the picturesque village of Great Chart.
Throughout the year, numerous events are held that can be enjoyed by all.
The main tearoom in the house is open on Fridays and Saturdays for House & Garden/Garden visitors only. Takeaway refreshments are available from the Ticket Office.
