The Follies in Britain is a stunning destination that spans 100 acres and features rugged sandstone hills with gullies, caves, towers, and bridges. It’s one of the most popular natural landscapes in Britain and a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable experience. Come and be amazed!
Hawkstone Park Follies is a popular destination that offers a variety of attractions. One of the main highlights is Grotto Hill, a pitch-dark labyrinth of ancient mines cut into the cliff that visitors can explore. Torches are required, but if you forget to bring one, they are available for purchase in the visitor centre. Another attraction is the Swiss Bridge, a rustic wooden structure that spans a deep chasm. Visitors can also experience The Cleft, a path winding between two cliffs that narrows into a dark tunnel. For panoramic views of up to 13 counties, visitors can climb The Monument, a 100ft high column.
Visitors with young children are advised to bring a baby backpack as pushchair access is limited to the Visitor Centre and Grand Valley. The park has picnic tables, and visitors can enjoy refreshments and light snacks at The Glass House.
Free car parking is available for visitors, and dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead. Additionally, the park hosts various family-friendly special events, including Summer Holiday treasure hunts, Fun Ride Days, and the famous Shropshire Mud Run.
The Glass House is a tearoom that serves visitors Lavazza coffee, Clipper Fair Trade teas, hot paninis, and various tray bakes. It offers a perfect opportunity to enjoy a snack or lunch while admiring the stunning views and local wildlife.
The Glass House is open to everyone from 10 am to 5 pm during the open season, and the last order for food is at 4 pm. It is important to note that visitors do not need to pay admission to The Follies to visit the tearoom or the Gift Shop. Visitors can stop by for a cup of tea or coffee anytime.
