An indoor Zoo and Tropical Rain Forest is located in the heart of the city centre. A visitor can step through a giant tree into a natural rainforest and spend the day exploring this vibrant and magical world. The experience is like no other, offering an up-close and personal encounter with exotic animals and lush plant life. It’s truly a unique and memorable attraction that’s not to be missed.

Things to do

Plantasia is home to a diverse collection of animals, with approximately 40 species. Over 10% of these animals are considered to have some conservation concern, with the Egyptian Tortoise (Testudo kleinmanni) being the most notable.

To support the conservation of this endangered species, Plantasia participates in the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) and collaborates with other zoological institutions. In addition, Plantasia breeds several vulnerable and endangered species, including Crested geckos, Axolotls, and Denison’s barbs.

Visitors to Plantasia can enjoy viewing these animals in their natural habitats and learn about their importance in the ecosystem. The zoo also houses a vast collection of tropical plants from various parts of the world, allowing visitors to discover the biodiversity of tropical rainforests.

Plantasia is also home to Jungle Escape, a unique and immersive escape experience developed in partnership with The Escape Game Swansea. This 60-minute live escape experience challenges players to find clues, solve puzzles, and complete challenges to escape the jungle-themed room. Jungle Escape is perfect for friends, family, birthdays, team building, and special events.

Food & Drink

The Canopy Cafe is the perfect spot to take a break and refuel. With a South American Street Market theme, visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious options. The Cafe operates from 10 am to 5 pm daily, with hot food served until 4 pm.

Guests can choose from yummy stone-baked pizzas, jacket potatoes, rainbow salads, toasties, and sweet treats. For those with dietary restrictions, the Cafe offers vegan and gluten-free options upon request.

To start the day right, visitors can also choose from various Welsh coffees, hot teas, and refreshing cold drinks. The Canopy Cafe is the perfect place to grab a snack and relax in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
