Snig Hole isn’t just a park; it has much more to offer if you have the day to explore. After playing in the park, you can head to Snig Hole Farm, grab a snack, or walk to the neighbouring town of Ramsbottom. Adventure awaits, whether you’re young or old!
Snig Hole is located in the small Lancashire town of Helmshore, not far from Haslingden. Upon entering the park, you will find a play area suitable for toddlers to older children, including a zip wire. Additionally, there are football nets and a large green area for football enthusiasts. Surrounding the park are several picnic benches, perfect for the summer months.
Exiting the park to your left and heading up a walkway, you will come across Snig Hole Farm, an area home to alpacas, llamas, peacocks, goats, horses, donkeys, and more. There is also ‘Snig Hole Snacks’, a small hut offering hot and cold drinks, treats, sweets, and a selection of hot food. You can take a seat and enjoy the stunning views.
Visitors can purchase chicken food and watch the chickens gather in the chicken hut. You can also buy milk to feed the lambs at certain times of the year. If you are interested in horse riding lessons, you can inquire about them while you are there.
Those looking for a walk can head along the disused railway line and walk to your heart’s content. The line takes you to Ramsbottom, a small town filled with lovely shops, cafes, and restaurants. You can even hop on the East Lancashire Railway.
Snig Hole Snacks offers a small selection of food and drink. However, if you fancy a picnic, there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy some al fresco dining with the family.
