With a plethora of exciting activities and events to indulge in, Stanwick Lakes offers the perfect destination for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Things to do

Walking
Stanwick Lakes provides a vast network of more than seven miles of footpaths that are wheelchair-accessible. It’s an excellent place for a relaxed walk to observe wildlife. If you’re in the mood for more physical activity, you can walk up to six miles to Thrapston. You can bring your dogs on leads for walks, as well as into the visitor center and cafe.

Adventure Playground
As you arrive at Stanwick Lakes, the adventure playground will immediately catch your eye. It’s constructed using wood and is surrounded by a moat. The playground is quite extensive, with many exciting features such as water play, a large sand area, a climbing tower, tunnels, stepping stones, a sunken ship, and much more. Children will be so entertained that they won’t want to leave!

Adventure Trail
The Adventure Trail is situated in one of the most stunning areas of Stanwick Lakes. It features an array of play equipment that entices children to explore. The trail includes two climbing rocks, a traversing wall, a rope bridge over the water, hexagonal swings, climbable animal structures, balance beams, and a double zip line. All of these attractions are waiting to be discovered by adventurous kids.

Assault Course
There is a full-size assault course located just a five-minute walk from the visitor centre, which is a fun challenge for both children and adults. The course starts with a giant structure that contains tunnels, a rope challenge that resembles Mission Impossible, and monkey bars to test your strength and agility. The course continues with tunnels, a tyre stepping challenge, a cargo net climb, climbing walls, and a rope swing across the “sinking sand.” The aim of the challenge is to be the first one to reach the end.

Food & Drink

The café situated in the Visitor Centre boasts stunning views of the lake through its large glass windows. It serves a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, cakes, and light meals like jacket potatoes and soup. The café is also pet-friendly, so well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Apart from the indoor seating area, you can enjoy open-air dining and seating on the adjacent terrace, which offers a scenic view of the lake. The terrace can be accessed through the café or externally through a gate located on the grassy seating area outside.

Moreover, you can purchase ice creams, hot and cold drinks, and snacks from the refreshment kiosk located outside. This kiosk has its own outside seating area.
