Overview

The Monkey Sanctuary is home to a lively group of 40 unique individuals. Each monkey boasts its own special personality and story, making the sanctuary a place full of character and charm. The rescue centre is a hub of constant activity, with the dedicated staff working tirelessly to provide love and care to these monkeys, all of whom have faced tough times in their past.

Things to do

During your visit to the sanctuary, you can meet the monkeys, have all your questions answered and engage in other exciting activities. For instance, the Wild Play area is perfect for little ones to imitate their new monkey friends. You can also take a walk in the Wildlife Gardens, where you can guess the footprints and participate in a word trail. Unjumble the words and win a sticker!

The sanctuary is more than just monkeys. It is also an ideal spot for nature lovers. The Wildlife Gardens provide an opportunity to learn about the incredible variety of plants, insects, birds, mammals, and amphibians that call the nine-acre site home. Bumble Bee Corner is a must-see, and you may also spot some of the gorgeous local birds. It’s a real treat for all wildlife enthusiasts.

The Sanctuary is committed to caring for all the grounds for their wildlife friends. They have around 285 different wildflower species, 23 beautiful butterfly species, 54 cool moth species, 15 adorable mammal species, 6 extraordinary amphibian and reptile species, and at least 60 colourful bird species. It’s like a super fun party for all the critters that call their sanctuary home! There is so much hidden wildlife waiting to be discovered.

Lastly, don’t forget to visit the gift shop located within the Tea Rooms. You can grab a hot drink and learn more about the monkeys you’ve seen that day.
