Overview

The National Lobster Hatchery charity focuses on marine conservation, research and education. They have a small yet unique Visitors’ Centre that offers an immersive experience to visitors. The Centre teaches the importance of sustainability and responsible marine management. The Hatchery has gained worldwide recognition for its expertise in this field over the past few decades.

Things to do

The National Lobster Hatchery is a great place to take your kids for an educational and fun experience. They’ll have the chance to get close to rarely-seen baby lobsters in the Hatchery, pregnant lobster mamas, and other fascinating creatures from the coast.

The staff members are friendly and knowledgeable and will happily answer your children’s questions. The interactive displays and hands-on artefacts are sure to keep them entertained. You’ll also learn about cutting-edge marine conservation techniques and how the shop works with the local fishing community.

After your visit, check out the Little Shop of Lobsters for unique and lovely sea-life-related products. You can even adopt your own lobster for just £5.00.

Food & Drink

The National Lobster Hatchery doesn’t provide any food or drink options. Nevertheless, it is conveniently situated near the town centre and along the quayside, where you can discover many eating options, such as Rick Stein’s Fish and Chips, Cornish pasty shops, and charming little cafes that serve toasties and sandwiches.
