You will love ThinkTank Birmingham Science Museum! It’s a super cool spot in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. You’re going to love it here! This interactive museum has over 200 displays on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), which you can explore and experience hands-on.
Get ready for a super cool day out with the family! There are over 4 floors of awesome stuff to explore at this place. You can learn about space and the night sky in the amazing 4K Planetarium or check out the Science Garden to find out how mechanics and transportation work. And don’t miss MiniBrum, where the little ones can have a blast exploring their own mini city with shops, homes, a park, and even a construction site!
If you’re into history, you’ll love the Smethwick Engine, the oldest working steam engine in the world dating back to 1779. And if you’re into planes, you gotta check out the Spitfire gallery with planes from back in the day and learn about how they were flown and the important role they played in WW2. Did you know that Birmingham’s Castle Bromwich factory made over 10,000 Spitfires? You can find out more about the people who helped get these iconic planes in the sky.
On Level 2, you can come face to face with some really cool stuff like fossils, skeletons, and wildlife displays. Check out the Jurassic Crocodile or the giant deer – it was one of the largest deer to ever walk the earth!
And make sure you don’t miss the Science Garden, an outdoor space with loads of interactive exhibits that showcase the wonders of physics, biology, and engineering. You can explore giant catapults, water play areas, and even a human-sized hamster wheel!
They have several food and drink outlets, including Signal Box Café, MiniBrum coffee corner, and an outdoor kiosk.

The Signal Box offers a wide variety of hot and cold food options, including their signature dish – the Signal Box Burger. It is also a great place to grab a cup of coffee or a sweet treat.
