Overview

Embark on a journey through Trebah, a delightful Cornish valley garden, where you’ll encounter lush canopies, vibrant plant tunnels, and seasonal floral delights. Trebah is a haven for nature enthusiasts all year round.

Things to do

Families can immerse themselves in the enchanting beauty of this picturesque Cornish Valley garden, boasting over 4 miles of scenic footpaths to explore, adventure playgrounds, and engaging children’s trails.

Beneath lush canopies adorned with exotic blooms, visitors can wander along vibrant living tunnels of plant life that lead down to the secluded Polgwiddon Cove on the Helford River’s southern shores. Accessible via a small, narrow passage with simple steps along the South West Coastal Path, the beach offers a tranquil retreat with picturesque views of sailing boats dotting the water. While exploring, families can also discover rock pools, but it’s essential to plan visits according to tidal patterns, as the bay’s waters may cover the pools entirely at times.

Throughout the year, Trebah offers diverse experiences, with spring showcasing vibrant displays of century-old Rhododendrons, Magnolias, and Camellias. In summer, the garden features impressive Giant Gunera, while autumn paints the Hydrangea Valley in shades of sky blue and china white. Even in winter, visitors can admire flowering plants from the southern hemisphere, along with majestic champion trees dominating the landscape. Regular special events are held year-round, ensuring there’s always something exciting to discover, and the garden welcomes furry companions, being dog-friendly.

Food & Drink

At Trebah Kitchen, families can expect meals that prioritize freshness, nutrition, sustainability, inclusivity, and ethics. The menu features dishes crafted with fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and seeds, with flavourful herbs and spices replacing salt. Healthy oils are chosen over butter and fats to keep the saturated fat content low, ensuring wholesome options for all.

Tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but families can also make bookings for special days like Winter Warmer Wednesdays, Fish and Chip Fridays, or Sunday Lunches, as well as for larger groups on other days.

The kitchen emphasizes sourcing from local suppliers, using seasonal ingredients, and selecting ethically reared meats, sustainable fish, and free-range eggs. With a wide range of dietary options, Trebah Kitchen ensures every family member can enjoy a delicious meal.

Situated on Trebah’s private beach, the Boathouse Beach Café offers a stunning backdrop to enjoy some ethically sourced coffee and mouth-watering ice cream.
