With six different waymarked trails, you can explore the park’s scenic beauty and observe water birds, grazing marshes, and sandhills. Remember to bring your furry friend along! Dogs are allowed here on a leash and allowed off the leash around the Thorpe Lake area.
If you’re searching for a fun and educational experience for younger visitors, you should definitely check out Otter’s Reach Indoor Adventure. This play area is ideal for children aged 3 and above, with a maximum height limit of 1.3 meters. Through imaginative play, kids can learn all about Whisby’s history, from its origins as Whisby Pits to the attraction and wildlife haven it is today. They can explore a gravel plant with hands-on features, climb on bullrush stilt posts, crawl through a spider’s web, and even check out a raptor’s nest.
But that’s not all – there’s also the Little Darter’s Outdoor Play Area, which is full of exciting tunnels, bridges, water features, and sand pits. Older children can even challenge themselves on the mini assault course, which features a ramp and rope ascent, balance rope traverse, and climbing net.
And if you’re a nature lover, you’ll be happy to know that you can take a walk through the Nature Reserve, which is managed by the Wildlife Trust to provide a safe haven for wildlife. You can ask for a map at Reception to take with you on your walk or use at home.
