Things to do

Prepare for an exciting time at the Camera Obscura & World of Illusions!

You can virtual tour Edinburgh’s streets, experience mind-bending illusions, and enjoy stunning cityscape photographs from the Rooftop Terrace.

Bewilderworld has become the talk of the town with its famous illusions, while the Mirror Maze and Vortex Tunnel offer an unforgettable experience. Eye Spy Edinburgh showcases Victorian and 3D cityscapes, and the Infinity Corridor takes you back in time with old Edinburgh photos.

But that’s not all! Light Fantastic offers interactive fun with the Kaleido Tunnel, Colour Shadow Wall, and Light Harp. The Ames Room is a brilliant piece of trickery, and the Magic Gallery has astonishing optical illusions and hands-on experiences that will leave you amazed.

The Camera Obscura Show is at the very top, which is a unique experience. In a dark room with a large table, a beam of light projects a live image of Edinburgh onto the table. Your guide will take you on a live tour during daylight hours, showing off some of the city’s best landmarks. After dark or in poor weather, a fantastic projection show is offered, highlighting the same magnificent views observed from the Camera Obscura. The footage is recorded from the top of the tower during daylight hours.
