Overview

Zip World Llechwedd is an adventure destination that offers unique experiences in a stunning former slate mine, set against the backdrop of the iconic Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. It is a perfect blend of heritage and adventure, where you can step into another world and indulge in a variety of thrilling activities. You can bounce on nets underground in a vast cavern, play a round of Underground Golf, or fly across the above-ground quarry on a seated zip line. This destination is ideal for the entire family and is sure to impress everyone who visits.

Things to do

Whizz across the iconic Llechwedd quarry side-by-side with your friends and family as you embark on Titan, an exciting, seated zip line experience. Take on multiple zip zones and soak up the stunning views around you as you fly at around 40 – 60mph in a comfortable seated position (minimum height 1.2m)

Take the adventure underground and hop into one of Zip World’s vast subterranean caverns where you will find Bounce Below, a bouncy net experience featuring multiple layers of nets, slides, music and incredible lighting. This one-of-a-kind adventure is the only of its kind in the UK and will see you exploring the huge space for an hour. (minimum height 1m for spectator and participant)

Located just next to Bounce Below in the underground cave system is Caverns, a unique and challenging adventure course, featuring ropes, zip lines, ladders, stepping platforms and a bunch of other fun obstacles. This exciting course can take a few hours to complete as you navigate between tunnels, walkways and huge chambers. (minimum height 1.8m)

Take a step back in time and hop aboard the underground railway to embark on the Deep Mine Tour. Once disembarked, you will explore the historical Llechwedd caverns with expert guides, learning all about the fascinating history of the former slate mine, as well as enjoy a special light show near the underground lake. (all participants must be able to walk, no babes in arms)

Underground Golf is the world’s first adventure golf set deep underground in a cave. Hop aboard the underground train to reach your destination, where you will find the 4-level, 18-hole course – complete with interactive elements and fun lighting. This adventure is for 3 years and over and is for the whole family to enjoy!

The perfect introduction to the world of adrenaline adventures and zip lining is Big Red. Once calling Penrhyn Quarry in North Wales its home, it now resides at Zip World Llechwedd. Big Red features two side-by-side lines 30 feet high, making it the perfect thrill for friends and family to race each other to the end. For ages 3 and up.

Food & Drink

The cozy Llechwedd Caffi is centrally located at the Zip World Llechwedd site and offers you a chance to relax and enjoy a meal – whether a quick sandwich or a delicious hot dish. The menu features many options including the Llechwedd cave-aged cheddar, which is aged on-site at Zip World Llechwedd. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are also available.
