Overview

Bucklebury Farm, near Bucklebury village, offers five rustic canvas lodges in the woods overlooking the deer fields. These lodges are perfect for a back-to-nature break with no electricity or WiFi, just oil lamps and candles. You can get close to friendly farm animals and explore the 77-acre farm’s nature trails.

Activities

Located in Pang Valley, the oldest landed estate in Berkshire, Bucklebury Farm offers many activities for visitors to indulge in, making it an ideal destination for a fun-filled day out. The area is home to various natural wonders and picturesque villages worth exploring.

While there are many nearby attractions,  Bucklebury Farm has enough to keep you occupied without venturing out. You can enjoy various activities like nature trails, zip wires, climbing frames, go-karting, a giant bouncing pillow, and an assault course. The farm has something to offer everyone, from young children to the elderly.

The farm is also a working and deer safari park, where visitors can take a tractor ride and witness the majestic deer herds roaming around. Additionally, there are numerous family-friendly activities to take part in, such as donkey grooming, Pygmy goat walking, Pat-a-pet, and even egg collecting from the chicken coop!

If you stay at the glamping site, all the farm’s attractions are included in the cost, allowing you to explore the farm, meet the animals, and enjoy the nature trail while having fun in the play areas. The indoor slides are a perfect option for rainy days.

Food

The Honesty Cafe is an eatery that offers meals throughout the day, including cooked breakfasts, freshly baked cakes, and delicious hot chocolates and coffee. The best part is that this cafe is close to the tents, making it easily accessible for visitors.

Moreover, a farm shop sells locally sourced produce, such as fresh eggs, honey, bread, and sausages, that you can take home and cook on your BBQ. Apart from that, the shop offers a range of delicious nibbles, wine, local craft beers, and ales for visitors.

If you don’t feel like cooking, you can head to the local pub, The Mill, which is just a six-minute drive from the site, and The Old Boot Inn is a ten-minute drive. You also have the choice to have a cooked breakfast or a breakfast basket delivered to your cabin. It’s important to note that this service is not included in the price of the stay.

Accommodation

Each tent is equipped with an en-suite shower and toilet to ensure you have a comfortable stay. The open-plan living area is furnished with a cosy sofa and a dining table around a wood fire stove, which keeps the interior warm and inviting. You will have plenty of wood and kindling, pots, pans, cutlery and dinnerware, to make cooking your meals a breeze. Although there is no electricity, an extra-large chest filled with frozen water bottles is provided to keep your food and drinks cool.

The tent can accommodate up to 6 people, with one double bed, a bunk bed, and even a bed in a cupboard! All the beds are comfortable and fully made up. You can enjoy a picnic table, barbeque, and deck chairs outside the tent. Additionally, you can add extras to your stay, such as a cooked breakfast or a tasty breakfast basket. The tent is best suited for two adults and up to four children.
