Overview

Looking for a fun and informal spot that is a perfect family getaway? Look no further than Coastal Cabins, situated in a prime location between the North Devon Coast and the charming village of Hartland. Surrounded by breathtaking wild countryside, the cabins are arranged around a picturesque fishing lake and come complete with a tennis court and a ‘Wild Spa’ hot-tub. These luxurious wooden cabins are the ultimate in comfort and relaxation, with plush beds, kitchenettes, shower rooms, and individual decking areas that provide the perfect spot to enjoy the magical setting of Devonshire countryside.

Activities

The Coastal Cabins offer various facilities to make the guests’ stay comfortable and enjoyable. One of the most appealing features is the BBQ cabin, which is free to use and serves as the perfect indoor space to cook up a feast on the built-in BBQ. The cabin is spacious enough to seat around 20-25 people, making it an ideal venue for larger gatherings and parties. However, families looking to enjoy a delicious meal together, regardless of the weather, will also find it perfect. The cabin provides logs, and guests need to bring their own food. For fresh seafood, guests can visit the local fishing village of Clovelly, which is close by.

If guests need some time to relax and unwind, a babysitting service is available on-site. This service allows guests to enjoy the lovely restaurants in the area without worrying about their children. The babysitting rates are very reasonable, at £8 per hour before midnight and £10 per hour after.

For the ultimate indulgence, guests can book a Unique Pamper Day from the comfort of their Coastal Cabin. The Wild Spa Hot Tub area is one of the new facilities that guests can enjoy. The spa has 26 massage jets that can help relieve any aches and pains.

The Coastal Cabins also have a fully stocked fishing lake on site that guests can use free of charge during their stay. Guests need to bring their equipment, though, as it’s not provided. Families with children will be happy to know that the lake is very safe, with a fence surrounding the perimeter. Kids can play freely without any worries.

Food

The cabins are priced on a self-catering basis, each with its own kitchenette. They are perfect for light meals; however, you can try one of the local pubs or stoking up the BBQ for a bigger feast.

There are a great selection of local village pubs and restaurants. The most local are in Hartland and these are in close proximity to the site. Try The Hart Inn, The Anchor Inn, The Kings Arms or Hartland Quay. If you want to venture slightly further afield (within a 10min drive) you’ll also find The Farmers Arms, The Old Smithy Inn, The Hoops Inn and The Red Lion. If you are looking for a fine dining experience then Pattard Kitchen comes highly recommended and it is just a five minute walk from the cabins.

Accommodation

Families with children will particularly enjoy staying in the Family Cabins due to their unique and quirky design. To prepare for chilly evenings around the campfire, don’t forget to pack warm clothes, a hat, gloves, and wellies for strolls on the stunning coastal path. A torch is also a must-have for evening walks to and from the village pub.

The cabins are divided into three sections: a living area with a King size bed, bunk beds (in the family cabins), and a flat-screen TV. A little kitchen is also included, equipped with an electric hob, oven, sink, fridge, and everything you need to rustle up a quick snack. To the other side of the cabin, there is a neat little shower room with a sink and toilet. Of course, there is a constant supply of hot water and electricity.

The luxury cabins are constructed from highly insulated and sustainable materials, with double-glazed windows and electric heating. They are warm and cosy in the winter and cool in the summer.

Guests can enjoy a range of amenities included with their stay, such as a comfortable bed with duvets, pillows, bath towels, and linen. The en-suite shower rooms come complete with hot water, while a handy bathroom kit is provided with toilet rolls, shower gel, and hand wash. The fully equipped kitchenette includes all necessary plates and utensils, with a handy kitchen kit provided containing kitchen roll, washing up liquid, cloth, tea towel, and bin bag. Guests can also enjoy 24/7 electricity and heating, with firewood available from the wood store. All of these features combine to create a memorable and fun-filled family holiday experience.

Nearby

There are plenty of family friendly things to do in the area, such as taking a lovely nature walk around the fishing lake, playing a game of tennis, or simply enjoying the beautiful open spaces that provide plenty of fresh air and stunning views. For the more adventurous, there are many options, such as horse-riding, surfing, and visiting award-winning theme parks like The Big Sheep, the Milky Way, and The Ultimate Adventure Centre.

Summary

This is award winning glamping North Devon style, at its finest.
