Coombeshead Farm is a working farm situated in an unspoilt rural environment with stunning views of the surrounding countryside near Chudleigh, Devon. Families will love the on-site animals, exploring the forest and nearby attractions, or spending a day at the beach.
Coombeshead Farm is set on 25 acres of land that guests are free to use. There is an ancient organic cider apple orchard; cider is pressed at the farm every Autumn. An unspoilt meadow abounds with wildflowers and butterflies. In the 15-acre dog walking field, there is a copse, stream, and an area where the wild deer can often be spotted at dawn and dusk. The children’s area has swings, a slide and a trampoline.
The animals on the farm are all pets and very friendly. The sheep and cows are in one of the many fields, wild ducks sometimes swim on the pond in the old cartwash, and free-range chickens are seen around the orchard.
The properties are self-catering. However, there are some wonderful country pubs and restaurants in the local area. A popular choice is the Elizabethan Inn, located in the local village of Luton.
Guests may choose to use the cob hut on the banks of the lake, which is ideal for BBQs.
