You can launch paddleboards, kayaks, and small boats on-site from the private foreshore and slipway. The cottage offers plenty of opportunities to explore the area by water or while enjoying the views and sounds of the creek from the private front garden. There are circular walks around Mylor Great Wood to the historic Pandora Inn in Restronguet Creek or Flushing. You can enjoy water-based activities, bird-watching, wildlife observation, walking, cycling, or simply relaxing in a beautiful environment. The cottage’s large front garden has a 40ft frontage onto Mylor Creek and Carrick Roads, offering views of traditional working boats dredging for oysters under sail. You can launch your family adventures afloat or relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while viewing the abundant wildlife on the creek.
You’ll find a sunny dining area in the cottages with a modern, fully equipped kitchen. However, if you don’t feel like cooking, nearby Cafe Mylor offers delicious meals made with locally sourced ingredients. It also boasts a lovely terrace overlooking the bustling harbour. Alternatively, Castaways, located at Mylor Harbour, serves a dynamic seasonal menu featuring quality seafood and also has stunning views.
Inside, the cottage has a modern feel and is constantly updated and immaculately maintained by the owners to provide clean, beautifully presented, and well-appointed accommodation for up to six guests.
The interconnected ground-floor reception rooms provide a welcoming living and dining space for the family to enjoy during their holiday. The sitting area overlooks the passing boats and paddleboards in the creek and provides a relaxed atmosphere to chat, watch T.V., stream your favourite channels, or choose a DVD from the owners’ collection.
A large archway opens into a dining area drenched in natural light and complemented by a country-style kitchen diner. A solid pine table comfortably seats up to six for family meals.
The bright and contemporary spot-lit kitchen features an oak vaulted ceiling leading from the dining area. It is fully equipped with a broad range of high-quality appliances to make self-catering as convenient as possible, including a dishwasher, large fridge freezer incorporating an icemaker and filtered iced water dispenser, microwave, air frier, ceramic hob, oven, and grill.
The adjoining utility room has a washing machine, a heat pump, a tumble dryer, and hanging space for wetsuits, walking, and sailing gear. Leading off is a shower room that is useful after a day on the water. From the utility room, a stable door opens out and up the stone steps into an enclosed large and sunny back garden with a table and six chairs for entertaining in the sunshine.
The accommodation continues to the first floor (the original staircase is quite steep and incorporates a stair gate), with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each bedroom is decorated in a nautical theme, comfortable and bright, and has stunning views of the creek from three of the four bedrooms.
Families will love the master bedroom with its king-size bed and smart T.V. This room offers tranquil views over the extensive rear gardens of the cottage and is perfectly complemented by a modern en-suite with a power shower.
A further bedroom with a double bed and Freeview T.V. is also ideal for families with stunning views over Mylor Creek. A bright and welcoming single bedroom, again overlooking the creek, leads off from the double bedroom. Both rooms enjoy shared access to a modern fitted family bathroom with a power shower. A fourth bedroom with a single bed overlooks the beautiful waterside, completing the stylish and well-presented sleeping accommodation.
The cottage is just a 15-minute walk or paddle away from Mylor Sailing School. This independent RYA-accredited training school offers a diverse fleet of boats, including accessible and modified boats for sailing and powerboating. You can book an all-day sail away for yourself and your family and bring a packed lunch for a full day of sailing. It’s an excellent option for beginners; you can anchor up in a lovely spot!
