The cottages are in the charming old church town of Gulval Village, near Penzance. They are ideally situated in the countryside, yet all essential amenities and main routes are nearby. The cottages are centred in the Mount’s Bay area of Cornwall and are just off the A30, making them ideally located to explore Penwith and its surrounding areas. With its quaint villages, beautiful moorland, and rugged coastline, West Cornwall offers fantastic walks along towering cliffs, long sandy beaches, and clear water coves. With so much to see and do, families can enjoy a holiday paradise that they’ll want to come back to time and time again.
Ideally placed for exploring the West Penwith and Cornwall, The Flower Box is close to all the main routes. St Ives is an artists’ mecca just to the north with The Tate, Barbara Hepworth Museum and Leach Pottery. There are also a delightful number of galleries, shops and restaurants. Surfers flock to Porthmeor Beach, and the white-gold sands of Porthminster and Carbis Bay invite relaxation and sand castle fun.
Sennen Cove, close to Land’s End, lies to the west. Nearby Penzance is the nearest town for shops and has a leisure centre and an outdoor seafront 1930s Lido. St. Michael’s Mount and Marazion can be walked or cycled along the south-west coast path in one direction, while Newlyn and Mousehole fishing villages are in the other.
There are three significant supermarkets within a 5-10 minute walking radius and many other essential amenities, such as great pubs and restaurants, all located nearby.
You can take a leisurely 1-mile walk east to reach Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens and Restaurant, and Trengwainton Gardens and Tearoom are just over 2 miles to the west of Gulval.
Penzance and the surrounding area are home to great chefs and excellent dining options, including restaurants and takeaways for eating in.

If you’re looking for something more relaxed, you can check out the beautiful gardens like The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project, Glendurgan, Trebah, and Tremenheere sculpture garden.
If you stay at Trehaven, you’ll be just a short walk from a dog-friendly beach perfect for building sandcastles and playing in the waves. There are endless footpaths to explore nearby, too.
