Higher Menadew offers superb facilities to amuse the whole family.

The superb indoor heated swimming pool is a huge favourite with all guests. Heated to 29.5 degrees, the 10m x 5m pool is 4′ 2″ deep throughout and has changing and shower facilities. The time slot booking system ensures guests have the luxury of the pool during your session.

The onsite games room offers table tennis, table football, air hockey and a dedicated area for younger guests of 5 and under with a playhouse, play-table and toys.

The resident ducks and hens are always available for guests to meet and greet!

The large grassed play area allows children to play various fun activities such as football, cricket, netball, badminton and volleyball.

Children use a sturdy wooden play tower with slides, swings, a climbing wall and a net, plus a nest swing, all with rubber safety mats underneath to soften any falls.

The large trampoline is equipped with a safety net for guests aged three and over and is available from Easter to the end of October. And delve into some role play and climb aboard Tom the Tractor, Dennis the Land Rover Defender and a super play boat all on offer!

Food

The kitchens in every cottage are fully equipped and ready to prepare any home-cooked meal. Feel free to get your groceries delivered to you on arrival. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Waitrose all deliver.

When you tire of cooking, there are plenty of family-friendly establishments and excellent restaurants where you can enjoy a meal out!

Accommodation

Cottages sleep 2 – 6 people plus cots, and all are welcoming and warm with wooden beams, comfy sofas, beds with pocket spring mattresses, bathroom towels, flat-screen digital T.V.s, DVD players, and free wifi internet access.

Kitchens are fully equipped with environmentally friendly washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets.

For families with young children, cots, high chairs, stair gates, and other items are readily available to use.

Byron is a beautiful ground-floor conversion with two bedrooms for sleeping 4.
Lamorna is a gem of a cottage with 2twobedrooms to sleep 4 plus a cot.
Trebowan is stylish and welcoming; 2 bedrooms to sleep 4 plus a cot.
Haydon is a handsome and comfortable cottage with two bedrooms to sleep 4. Swallow’’s Nest is spacious, inviting and detached; 3 bedrooms to sleep 6 plus a cot.
Rafters is an impressive, relaxing and spacious cottage with 3 bedrooms to sleep 6 plus a cot.

Nearby

There is no end of beautiful sandy beaches nearby, such as Polkerris, near Fowey and Charlestown in St Austell.

Visit beautiful gardens, many now family-friendly, including the world-famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Picturesque fishing villages such as Charlestown or Fowey are a stone’s throw away.

There are also plenty of National Trust and other country houses with unique architecture, unrivalled interiors and décor, and glorious gardens and grounds. Lanhydrock House and Pencarrow House and Gardens in Bodmin are well worth visiting!

Cornwall boasts several impressive preserved castles, including Restormel Castle in Lostwithiel and Tintagel Castle.

If you enjoy cycling, the Camel Trail linking Bodmin to Padstow is a great day out, or talk a woodland walk at Cardinham or Lanhydrock.
