Overview

There is nothing in between about this wonderful St Ives holiday cottage, which is located in the heart of St Ives town. In-Between Cottage is a charming slate-clad traditional dog-friendly holiday cottage simply moments from beaches, shops, and restaurants. Its position on the cobbled lane of The Digey (pronounced die-gee) means that as soon as you step out of your front door, you are in the heart of St Ives!

Activities

In-Between Cottage is situated slap bang in the middle of St Ives. You could not find a more convenient location for a fun family holiday. Porthmeor Beach is reached by walking to the end of the cobbled lane in one direction and in the other, shops, restaurants, cafes, delis, galleries and the harbour. You are seconds away from whatever is going on in this busy and award-winning harbour town. Also, there’s a warm shower right outside the back door, which is perfect for washing off sandy little bodies as you all toddle back from the beach, which is right on your doorstep!

Food

The kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances and a dining table that seats five. For the family who loves cooking on holiday, the hob is induction, and it has an electric fan oven and integrated microwave. There is lots of space in the tall fridge/ freezer to store delicious Cornish delights, and there is a dishwasher to clean it all up afterwards. The kitchen also has a washer/dryer, which is a family essential!

If you prefer cooking, you can find many places to eat and grab snacks and treats just outside your door.

Just a stone’s throw away, Porthmeor Beach has a great beach café (which is so much more than any old café!) With the best sunset views in the west, it’s a must-visit for anyone staying in St Ives. If you’re an early riser, try out their ‘Build your Own’’ breakfast because there isn’t a better way to start your day than with a fantastic breakfast on the beach! They also have a children’s menu and sea views. If the beach is where you like to be, between April and October, West Beach serves breakfasts, lunches and pizzas, a new fish bar serving a mouth-watering menu, and a relaxed, tempting jug of Pimms!

For Cornish cuisine mixed with creative cooking, check out Porthminster Kitchen. Offering 180-degree views of the harbour front, it’s a great spot to enjoy the views away from the busy street while enjoying some smaller plates and lighter options. They have a children’s menu and vegan options, and they are dog-friendly on the terrace.

Hub St Ives is another excellent option. It mixes modern interiors with the fresh nautical vibe St Ives is known for. Situated right on the St Ives harbour front, Hub St Ives boasts panoramic views of the harbour and some of the best burgers in the country. They have a great kids’ menu, too.

Accommodation

The holiday cottage accommodates a family of up to five, with the twin bedroom offering a trundle bed for a third (small) person. The king-size master bedroom has its own en-suite and a family bathroom with a bath and shower. Walk through the front door and enter into a hallway that leads you to the place where you can drop your shoes, coats, body boards, wetsuits, windbreaks, pram, and dog leads.. every home needs one of these spaces!

Nearby

There are endless things nearby to keep everyone busy. At the harbour, you can choose boat trips and fishing experiences. Take a boat to Seal Island and check out the local wildlife. This is an experience they will remember. You can also grab a net and some bait from one of the local shops and try catching some crabs off the pier. This absolutely brilliant activity will keep them busy for a long time. Go rock pooling at low tide at Porthmeor Beach, or head to Porthminster Beach to try kayaking and learn to surf with the local surf school. This is great for little ones, too. If it’s raining, check out Coco Kitchen, which runs regular chocolate-making workshops, or visit one of the local museums.

Alternatively, simply sit on the beach or benches along the harbour with a yummy ice cream and watch the world pass you by.
