Overview

Tucked away in a picturesque valley, Little Comfort Farm is an absolute dream come true for nature lovers. The organic farmland, meadows, and ancient woodland will make your heart skip a beat.

The owners of Little Comfort Farm are ecologists who know a thing or two about preserving the environment. They’ve done a fantastic job of ensuring the wildlife and nature here thrive. If you’ve got little ones who love to explore the great outdoors, this is the perfect destination for them.

Activities

Little Comfort Farm is an ideal location for adventure-seeking families. With world-class surfing, climbing, walking, and cycling activities available nearby, North Devon offers the perfect playground. You can spend a day at Woolacombe or Sauton Sands, two beautiful beaches, or enjoy a thrilling experience on the traffic-free Tarka Cycle Trail.

If you prefer to stay on the farm, there are 70 acres to explore, and you can meet the animals and collect eggs with Jeremy five mornings a week. Nature lovers can participate in a ‘nature discovery pick and mix’ session or observe the wildlife at their own pace on the farm and wildlife trails. You can also light a campfire, share stories, and enjoy toasted marshmallows for hours of fun.

The games room features table tennis, table football, board games, puzzles, and books. It is perfect for older children to safely socialize and play while parents enjoy peace, quiet, and wine.

Food

The cottages are self-caterated, but there is an onsite farm shop where you can purchase and enjoy some local produce. Fresh apple juice, breakfast goods, sourdough bread, cooking ingredients and sweet treats are some delights on offer.

Barbeques and patio furniture can be found at each property, and you can have organic steaks, burgers and sustainable charcoal delivered to your cottage from the farm shop

North Devon boasts one of the most exciting food scenes in the country, thanks to its direct access to the sea and organic farms. The region offers a wide range of high-quality produce and talented chefs. From the emerging café scene in Barnstaple to the artisan food vans found on the beaches and the exquisite pubs in local villages, there is something for everyone. Additionally, there are Michelin-starred restaurants dotted all over the region. Guests can even walk to the local pub! The guest information pack will include the top recommendations for dining in the area.

Accommodation

A former mill house, granary and cattle barn (byre), Little Comfort Farm’s four stone cottages exude charm with their original stone walls, slate roofs and timber beams that sit harmoniously alongside inviting, bright and contemporary interiors.

The cottages boast cosy yet contemporary, bright and inviting interiors. Renovated with outstanding sustainability credentials – you can relax in the knowledge that you’re holidaying responsibly. The Mill House is the largest property with spacious open-plan living areas and breathtaking country views. Five bedrooms and five bathrooms comfortably accommodate up to ten guests.

The Granary and Woodlark each sleep four guests in two sun soaked bedrooms furnished with the comfiest beds and organic linen. Kids will adore Woodlark’s double bunk bed; a cosy spot for a sleepover after a day careering around the countryside. Originally the cattle shed, Caen Byre, is now an immaculately renovated cottage for families of up to five (plus dogs!). The south-facing courtyard garden overlooking the landscaped farm gardens and river is a magical spot for your morning coffee.

Nearby

For stunning walks, you’d be hard-pressed to beat Braunton Burrows, the sand dunes behind Saunton Sands beach, which is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (and has pram-friendly sections!)

Marine Drive is a relatively unknown part of Woolacombe Beach with a great café and stunning views from the car park.

Exmoor Zoo and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park are also great places to visit.
