Activities

At the farm, families engage in morning chores, this includes holding the rabbits and guinea pigs, feeding the pigs and sheep, hand feeding the goats and chickens, and collecting the eggs. Kids can enjoy free rides on ponies and tractors, a playground, and a large field. Nearby is a fishing village with good food shops, a pub, a restaurant, a sandy beach, and an indoor pool. The farm also offers a working livery yard and indoor activities such as Little Tikes toys, a wooden train set, a pool table, and table football. There is a spacious front field with a football goal for ball games.

Food

Each cottage is self-catering and includes a fully-equipped kitchen, allowing families to enjoy cooking and dining together. Families who book for a week or longer will receive a box of Cornish treats as a welcome gift to make their stay even more enjoyable. If you dont fancy bringing food, you can do an online shop to be delivered straight to the cottage from any major supermarket. If families need more supplies, the village of Pelynt is just a short walk away, where they can visit a pub, café, and two local shops. There is a nearby fish and chip shop just a mile away, or numerous restaurants and dining options in the charming towns of Looe and Polperro.

Accommodation

Each Cottage has a stair gate, a high chair, and a travel cot. The price also includes all bedding and towels, heating and electricity, and free logs for the log burner. They are installing a large Hot Tub/Swim Spa in the Farmhouse garden for the exclusive use of guests staying in the Farmhouse. The spa has nine-person hydrotherapy seating, so the whole family can join in!

The Mealhouse is a charming conversion of an old farm building, featuring vaulted ceilings and plenty of character. The cottage includes a cosy lounge, a modern kitchen, an attractive double bedroom, and a shower room. A young child can sleep on a fold-out camp bed in the bedroom. The sunny garden offers uninterrupted views across the fields and ponds. The cottage was named after its original use for storing feed for the pigs.

Threpney Byre is a charming and spacious converted “roundhouse” with a bright open-plan living space, a large bathroom, a cosy double bedroom, and a private courtyard/garden. The name “Threpney Byre” reflects the cottage’s shape, reminiscent of the old twelve-sided three-penny piece, with “Byre” meaning a cowshed in old English.

Waggoners is a high-quality barn conversion with its own private garden and great views. It has two bedrooms and a spacious open-plan lounge, kitchen, and dining area with a vaulted beam ceiling, log burner, and doors leading out to the south-facing garden and patio. The cottage is all on one level, with no stairs, and retains original features such as exposed stone walls.

Twinkles is a high-quality barn conversion with two bedrooms, both en-suite and a spacious upstairs lounge dining room with a vaulted beam ceiling and a log burner. The cottage was named after Twinkle the cow, and many original barn features, like the exposed stone walls and double upstairs doors, can still be seen.

Shires Rest is a charming barn conversion with three bedrooms: a spacious ensuite king, a twin, and a single. It has a large open-plan lounge, dining area, and kitchen with a vaulted beam ceiling and a log burner. The cottage has low ceilings and retains many original barn features, such as exposed stone walls and wide entrance doors.

Rosebud is a charming 3-bedroom cottage with a private patio, spacious bedrooms, a farmhouse-style kitchen, and a cosy lounge with a log burner. It was named after Rosebud the cow and still retains many original barn features like exposed stone walls and split barn doors.

The Old Farmhouse is a historic five-bedroom farmhouse with original features dating back over 400 years. It has two bathrooms, two connected lounges, a large farmhouse kitchen, private parking for three cars, and a large south-facing private garden with garden furniture. The hot tub will be ready to use from 15th June 2024. Guests booking now will get free use of the hot tub/spa during their stay.

Polean Cottages provides an exciting and fun-filled base for families on their Cornish getaway. The area is surrounded by attractions and activities for all families. Visitors can soak up the sun on sandy beaches or explore the quaint towns and villages. Within a short drive from the site, families can discover the charming towns of Looe, Polperro, and Fowey, each offering a unique blend of attractions and entertainment.

Guests have free access to a local swimming pool (with a toddler pool) and free evening entertainment. Try out the water sports on offer at the Millpool Car Park (located in Looe), about 5 minutes by car, or do a spot of crabbing from many places dotted around up and down the river. If you’re still craving more activities, you could always head out to Hannafore (free parking) and have a game of pitch and putt (Looe Bowles Club) or a game of tennis followed by rock pooling at Hannafore beach and a lovely cream tea at The Island View Café. Other family days out nearby are Camel Creek Family Theme Park, Camel Trail (Cycleway), The Eden Project, and Adrenaline Quarry.

Looe is a bustling fishing town boasting one of the area’s best sandy beaches. Visitors can enjoy crabbing or embark on a boat trip to see seals.
