Overview

Port Lympne is home to over 800 animals and 73 species. During each stay, guests will be invited on a safari to hear about the important conservation work overseas while seeing some magnificent animals at the reserve. See rhinos, giraffes, zebras and many more amazing animals.

Explore the stunning reserve in personal-use golf buggies, eat and drink at various restaurants, book additional experiences, just soak up the peace, recharge, and reconnect.

Overnight stays include full access to Port Lympne’s stunning 600-acre reserve, home to over 800 endangered animals, and the chance to journey by safari truck through a vast Kentish savannah, seeing such iconic favourites as giraffe, black rhino, wildebeest and zebra.

Food

The Garden Room’s carefully curated menu features only the freshest and best local seasonal ingredients. Located inside the historic Port Lympne Reserve, The Garden Room is rapidly becoming a destination in its own right and was recently described by InsideKent as “a real must, especially for food lovers that appreciate the use of local and artisan produce”.

Set within beautiful Mediterranean gardens at the bottom of the reserve, Babydoll’s wood-fired pizza restaurant offers authentic Italian cooking in an informal setting.

Bear Lodge Restaurant is exclusively available for overnight guests. The restaurant offers informal family dining and is open for breakfast and dinner bookings.

There’s also a selection of seasonal cafes, serving drinks or light bites, around the reserve. Please check opening hours when booking.

Accommodation

Port Lympne’s award-winning short breaks range from luxurious 4* boutique hotel stays to a romantic night under the stars in a 180-degree, panoramic bubble pod.

Lion Lodge sleeps up to four guests. The ground floor master bedroom includes a king bed, and the mezzanine floor features two single beds – plus a luxury bathroom with a walk-in monsoon shower. Large viewing areas of the lion enclosure in the living spaces make the Lion Lodge a truly unique stay.

The luxury Tiger Lodges, Zemo and Zarka, both sleep up to four guests with the option of an additional cot. The accommodation includes a rustic lounge and a luxurious bathroom with a monsoon shower. French doors from the master bedroom lead out into a spacious private garden.

The Wolf Lodge sleeps up to four guests, offering a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a twin room. Both rooms are en suite, with luxury bathrooms and a monsoon shower. The living space includes a log burner, and guests can relax in a cosy cinema room with a popcorn machine and kitchenette nook. The wolves roam freely in an enclosed garden beside the lodge.

The Rhino Lodge sleeps five in 2 double ensuite rooms and an additional bedroom nook (suitable for one child); the sitting room has a log burner, games cupboard, record player and TV. On the landing, there is a fridge and a Nespresso machine. The rhinos can be found at the bottom of the garden area.

Treetop Bubble sleeps 2 guests. The transparent walls of The Bubble will make guests feel at home with nature. Perfectly designed for a luxury retreat, ideal for adult family members, The Bubble has a separate en suite wetroom, with complimentary Bamford toiletries and sleep kit to ensure a truly relaxing experience.

Leopard Creek Cabins can accommodate families of up to four with children under eight. Each Cabin comes individually designed with a king bed, wood-burning stove, oak floorboards (with underfloor heating), and an ensuite shower room stocked with organic Bamford toiletries. A staircase leads up to a wonderfully snug mezzanine nook with two beds suitable for children under eight and a window overlooking the rhino paddock.

Pinewood Pods have a double bed and bunk beds, making them ideal for families, couples or groups. Each pod has a decked area to sit and relax. Ensuite pods feature the same amenities as the camping pods, which offer the additional benefit of an ensuite. All of the pods are heated. Guests have access to the communal toilet and showers; all rooms include tea and coffee facilities. Take on a family challenge in the game room or socialise around the shared campfire.

Hog Deer Creek shepherd’s huts can accommodate up to four guests- ideal for two adults and two children in the bunk bed. The huts are ensuite with an inside seating area, mini fridge and a Nespresso coffee machine. Also available with a private balcony as an option.

The Treehouses each sleep up to four guests, with the option of an additional cot. The Treehouse suites include a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious open-plan living area. All of the suites are glass-fronted with private furnished balconies. An accessible treehouse is available on request.

Giraffe cottage can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests over two storeys with double and twin bedrooms. A country-style kitchen and a cosy, snug, and private garden create a home-from-home experience in the heart of the Port Lympne Reserve.

The Bear Lodge tents can be arranged to accommodate up to eight guests. Each tent includes an ensuite with bedding provided. The tents include a fridge with a private deck for adults to relax outside, alongside a play area for little ones to enjoy safely within sight.

Giraffe Lodge hosts 8 luxury safari tents. Each tent provides the perfect safari-luxe and glamping charm, with ensuite facilities, heating, lighting, fluffy towels and dressing gowns. Sleeping 2 in double or twin beds, spend a magical night under the stars in total comfort, falling asleep to the sounds of wildlife just metres away.

Port Lympne Reserve is full of activities on-site. Entrance to their sister park, Howlett Wild Animal Park is also included with overnight stays.

Explore the local area and try something different; take in some history at Lympne Castle, visit the Royal Military Canal in Hythe or take a trip on the steam trains at Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

Thanks to the generosity of guests, The Aspinall Foundation has released more than 70 gorillas, 49 Javan gibbons, 14 Javan grizzled langurs, 148 Javan ebony langurs, 11 European bison and 8 black rhinos back to the wild!
