Activities

At the peak of the hill, you’ll discover an expansive barn with a table tennis table, pool table, darts board, and a cosy seating area equipped with a T.V. and various DVDs. Guests can reserve this area in advance to gather with family and friends all in one place. Take advantage of the island with benches and a fire pit. It’s a great outdoor space where you can relax with your family. If it gets crowded, you can reserve the island in advance.

Explore the beautiful on-site woodlands by taking a stroll. Take a moment to rest and appreciate the stunning views from the various benches. Unwind and immerse yourself in a good book amidst the tranquil surroundings. Don’t forget to bring your little ones along to discover the charming woodland swings. And if you’re up for some fun, head to the top of the hill near the motorhome pitches for a kickabout. Fancy some fishing? Go and unwind by our beautiful lake, nestled amidst lush wetlands. Take some time to relax or try your hand at fishing.

They have cycle rentals available for both half-day and full-day rates. The rates include a helmet, bike lock, and puncture repair kit. And after a long day of exploring, why not treat yourself to a relaxing soak in the delightful hot tub on offer?

If you’re into gaming during your vacation (and maybe a little friendly rivalry), why not try out some of our outdoor games? They’ve got giant Jenga, skittles, rounders and quoits. All these games can be rented from the Hayshed.

Hayshed Café Bar has a delicious menu of freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches, and suppers. Quench your thirst with hot and cold beverages, beers, wines, and spirits. There are options for everyone, including meat, vegetarian, and vegan dishes. Be sure to let them know if you have any food allergies. Visit Burys world famous market, only a short 30-minute drive away, you’ll find a wide range of indoor and outdoor stalls. The outdoor market is open every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, while the Indoor Market Hall welcomes visitors daily. Don’t forget to indulge in the renowned Bury Black Pudding!

With seven cottages to choose from, you’re bound to find one that suits your family.
They sleep a different number of people, with double beds, singles, and sofa beds. All cottages have a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and garden.

Have a motorhome? No problem! Enjoy scenic views of the hills from the hardstanding pitches, complete with electric hookup, water, and Elsan disposable facilities. The only thing you’ll need to think about is which pitch to choose!

The Pennine Bridleway is a fresh addition to the National Trail system, catering to walkers, horse riders, and mountain bikers. Take your time exploring the stunning English countryside at your leisure.

Burnley’s unique musical sculpture, the ‘Singing Ringing Tree’ by Tonkin Liu, stands tall on Crown Point overlooking the town. Made of galvanised steel pipes stacked like a tree swaying in the wind, this Panopticon creates a melodious tune using wind energy. It connects to the Pennine Bridleway and local walking paths near the Dunnockshaw Millennium Wood as part of the Forest of Burnley reforestation project. The area is rich in native trees and bird species, offering a stunning view of East Lancashire, including Pendle Hill to the north and the Cliviger wind turbines to the east. On a clear day, you can spot Turf Moor football stadium in the town centre, along with Bowland Fells, Pendle, Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent, and Great Whernside. It usually takes about an hour to walk from the site, but if you prefer a quicker option, you can drive for 5 minutes along Burnley Road East towards Burnley and park at Clough Bottom Reservoir. This way, the walk will only take around 30 minutes each way.

You can easily find the Pennine Bridleway nearby. It’s a recently established National Trail that caters to walkers, horse riders, and mountain bikers. Take your time exploring the breathtaking landscapes of England.

You can reach the newly renovated 22-bay Toptracer driving range in just a 15-minute drive. It’s located in the peaceful Marl Pits area. Additionally, kids of all ages can have a great time at the adventure golf course with a woodland theme. This course offers different difficulty levels, creating an immersive experience for everyone. Plus, with lighting installed throughout, you can enjoy the fun even after the sun sets!

Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall, two charming local market towns, are connected by the East Lancashire Heritage Railway and are worth checking out! The entire twelve-mile route goes from Rawtenstall to Ramsbottom and continues to Bury.

There is a dry ski slope nearby that is open all year round. If you’re interested, you can also request lessons.
