Sunflowers Barn is an excellent countryside getaway. With plenty of space for kids to play, you’ll find tons of fun activities both indoors and outdoors, including beautiful beaches, scenic walks, and lots of awesome tourist spots nearby.
“Sunflowers” is situated in the picturesque countryside of Cornwall, in the charming hamlet of Trelowia. It provides a perfect setting for a tranquil retreat, away from the chaos of daily life.
If you wish to explore the local area, there are plenty of exciting places to visit which are easily accessible. You won’t have to go too far to enjoy an eventful day out, as everything is within easy reach.
The Barn is fully equipped for self-catering, including a dining area for family meals. However, if you don’t fancy cooking, there are nearby options.
Treddinick Farm Shop and Café is just a short walk of ¾ mile down the lane. They are known for their amazing breakfasts and cream teas, so make sure to visit there.
If you are looking for a good meal with outdoor seating, check out The Copley Arms in nearby Hessenford. They have a great reputation for their food, so it’s worth a visit.
Sunflowers Barn is a lovely cottage that can comfortably accommodate up to six people in its three bedrooms. If you need an extra bed or two, there are lightweight full-size single divan beds available that can be added when needed.
As you step inside the cottage, you will be welcomed by a spacious living area with beautiful exposed beams and a stunning countryside view. Outside, there is a lush lawn with a picnic table where you can enjoy the scenery.
The living room features comfortable leather sofas, speedy Wi-Fi, a 32” TV, a DVD player, and a music centre. Additionally, there is a modern, well-stocked kitchen and dining area where you can cook delicious meals. A large family bathroom and a charming twin bedroom are located just a few steps away.
Upstairs, you will find the luxurious master bedroom with a king-size bed, an en-suite shower, and a private patio with outdoor furniture that overlooks a lovely lawned garden. There is also a spacious single bedroom on this floor, with its own TV.
If you are travelling with little ones, a cot, high chair, and retractable stair gate are available upon request.
You don’t need to worry about parking as there is space for two cars, and with a little heads-up, even three cars can fit comfortably.
Depending on what you’re looking for, there is something to suit every day of your stay. You can take a leisurely stroll through the stunning valley to Seaton Beach, which is only a 3 ½ mile drive away. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can enjoy a delightful 50-minute walk through the breathtaking woodland and riverside nature reserve.
The little harbour town of Looe is only a quick 4.6 miles away and has many charming shops, friendly pubs, cosy cafes, and a beautiful sandy beach to enjoy. You can even hop on a boat from there and cruise along the stunning coast to reach the adorable fishing village of Polperro. It’s like a little slice of paradise just waiting for you to explore!
Both Seaton and Looe beaches are great for little kids. If you’re looking for quieter beaches, you should definitely check out the gorgeous Lantic Bay and the amazing Whitsand Bay.
For the kids, there’s a cool monkey sanctuary, a big go-kart track, and a super long zip line over an old quarry right nearby. You can also hit up the surf school at Whitsand Bay or try your hand at some golf, fishing at the lake or sea, canoeing, kayaking, or paddleboarding – all right around the corner.
Once you hit the main road, you’ll have easy access to lots of local tourist spots like The Eden Project (about 40 mins away) and The Lost Gardens of Heligan (just under an hour).
The barn offers a peaceful experience for families of all sizes. With nearby beaches and nature spots, there’s always something to do, whether you like adventure or relaxation.
