You can freely explore the 400 acres of ancient woodland on Merry Hill, and if you wish to venture beyond, the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons offer renowned beauty. Brinsop Court, situated in the heart of the estate, has been named one of the world’s best wedding venues.

Food

The property has a fully equipped kitchen, so you don’t need to bring utensils and cookware. You can cook and enjoy amidst the breathtaking surroundings. But if you don’t feel like cooking or need to buy some groceries, a small village and town nearby has a variety of independent shops and cafes to choose from.

Accommodation

This cabin is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is nestled among trees and offers guests a luxurious wood-fired hot tub on the decking, where they can relax and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area. The cabin is designed to blend in with its natural surroundings, featuring large windows throughout the property that provide an uninterrupted view of the natural beauty outside.

The open-plan living area in the center of the cabin is perfect for relaxation, with comfortable seating and an ethanol-fired burner that keeps you warm and cosy. The well-equipped kitchen is also located in this area, making it perfect for cooking a feast. The cabin also has an ample dining space and large sliding doors leading to a beautiful decking area.

The outdoor area is perfect for unwinding, enjoying morning coffee, or reading a good book. The Swedish wood-fired hot tub and the alfresco shower are located in this area, making it perfect for a relaxing bath or shower amidst the natural beauty surrounding you.

The cabin has two large bedrooms, one on the ground floor and the other in the ‘tent room’ designed by Côte de Folk on the first floor. Both rooms have super-king beds; one can be set up as two twin beds if required. The beds have luxurious mattresses, premium duvets, and soft down pillows, ensuring sound sleep. Additionally, the cabin has a family bathroom with twin sinks, a large stone bathtub, and an incinerator toilet.

The Quist is officially off-grid and is powered by a solar unit, making it a sustainable property. However, guests need not worry about the power supply as there is enough power to cater to their needs during their stay. Please note that the cabin has no WiFi, offering guests a perfect opportunity to switch off, relax, and reconnect with nature.

The kitchen comes stocked with salt, pepper, caffeinated tea, ground coffee, butter, sugar, six eggs, and a selection of pastries for the oven. Additionally, eco-friendly toiletries are provided, and the owners ask that guests use these rather than their own. Loo rolls, kitchen paper, eco-friendly liquid, hand soap washing-up, a clean dishcloth, and tea towels are also provided in the kitchen.

Guests are welcome to explore the Brinsop Estate, and the property is conveniently located to discover some stunning locations if you wish to venture out. The Wye Valley, Malvern, and the Brecon Beacons are all within driving distance and offer breathtaking hikes with spectacular views. Additionally, you can indulge in activities such as mountain biking, wild swimming, canoeing, and more.

The charming town of Weobley and the city of Hereford are also just a short drive away. Hereford is renowned for its vibrant market, independent shops, and stunning cathedral, which houses the Mappa Mundi.
