Overview

Guests won’t believe how stylish a log cabin can be. The designers of The Vacationist aimed at keeping the camping culture alive but with a few twists and luxuries. This is no ordinary glamping. The adults can relax with a drink around the fire whilst listening to the kids having fun running through the fields and climbing trees.

Activities

Plenty of outdoor space means the kids can safely run to their hearts’ content. Then as the evening draws in, relax and toast marshmallows in the firepit. Once guests are done relaxing, there is plenty to do nearby for both adults and kids alike. This cosy rural hideaway is perfect for families no matter what the season or weather.

Food

This glamping experience is completely self-catering, including an awesome kitchen with a double burner gas stove, a big fridge, a large sink, and lots of storage and counter space. There’s also a dining/bar area that can seat up to four people for quality family time. Something that can be taken for granted during everyday busy lives.

Accommodation

The cabin is like nothing seen before. The inspiration was taken from the impressive A-frame cabins seen around the US. The cabin is packed with design features all designed around triangles. There’s a big ol’ triangular window in the bedroom that lets in tons of light, perfect for lounging in bed and watching the trees and nature outside. The dining area and feature wall have angled shapes that flow into the dark and light contrast of the herringbone floor.

The creators wanted the cabin to be a cool and unique spot for everyone to enjoy. Keep an eye out for the awesome ‘coloured-pencil’ epoxy kitchen counter that they put together with the help of the local school, and their secret bookcase room that their kids designed for your kids! These features not only look great, but also remind us to be mindful of what we do with items we no longer need. Take this opportunity to have those conversations with the children over dinner!

There is a comfy living room with a real log-burning stove and two cozy sofas. Lots of USB outlets are available so families can charge all their gadgets, the perfect home away from home. The main bedroom has a roomy king-sized bed and a large picture window. A secret bunk room can sleep 2 kids or adults up to 6ft tall.

There’s a sunny deck overlooking the fields, great for enjoying morning coffee or stargazing at night.

Nearby

A scene families will never forget during their stay is the picture of being surrounded by greenery for miles. This private farmland is the perfect place to take a stroll through the woods or relax in the field right outside the door. Guests up for more exploring can wander through the nearby camping fields and make their way to the quaint villages of Framfield and Palehouse Common (don’t forget to check out the awesome Hare & Hounds pub).

Families fancying a drive, then the South Downs National Park is on one side and the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the other. There are tons of fantastic views, walking trails, hiking spots, and biking paths to enjoy in both areas.

Summary

There’s something for everyone in the family when you stay at the Vacationist. Stay in stunning quirky accomodation then adventure during the day and relax by the fire whilst stargazing in the hammock at night.
